ViVa Yvette!!!
by mglenn at Citysearch
Yvette is very talented, skilled and has a wonderful personality.
She is the only hair colorist in Raleigh who has been able to turn my very dark hair to "healthy" blonde without it falling out or turning funky orange/yellow. She is a GODsend!!!! I have to emphasize how healthy my hair (even though has been highlighted all over) is becuz of Yvette, Jack and Bumble and Bumble. AS well as KUDOs to ALL THE STYLISTS who are always friendly and give me advice when I ask them about products and how to use them.
Our appt had finished. She was very busy when I was leaving .But I had ? about the makeup they apply and sell. Yvette patiently took the time to help me with my questions.. Yvette is also a talented Makeup artist. There is station in Samuel Cole that is used where anyone can make an appt. to get a makeup lesson or application. I asked my ? about foundation/coverup. I needed help with the correct color. She looked and put the foundation on my face and then put some of the powder over it. It was just a second but after that my skin looked velvet -like. I looked liek a different person becuz I had the quality foundation...it just made such a difference. it did not "melt" later in the day like the Jane Iredale liquid foundationI had on.
That is another thing I want to try...Yvette's award winning makeover.!*! She has already made me over as a blonde, made over my skin with proper foundation and the next step is for me to learn how to put on makeup like an expert. An expert like Yvette.
I have had skin problems my whole life. I hope ppl can understand how much it meant to me for her to have taken the time to demostrate the products. The product made my skin look so soft and fresh looking. I highly recommend making an appt for an Yvette makeup lesson appt. Those are some great products you can't get in the drugstore or department store.
THANK YOU YVETTE!!!
- Pros: There is so much to rave about but the best is EVERY CLIENT in the salon is happy.
- Cons: I am not able to go in every week. haha. ; ) This place is wonderful.
Best Haircut I've Every Had!
by BFair at Citysearch
I had a wonderful experience. I received a gift certificate for my birthday and Noel was my stylist. She started by offering me complementary beverage, listened to my needs and was very attentive to my hair cut. She made me feel comfortable about my decisions and gave me feedback about how to maintain my style. The complimentary parafin wax was fantastic. And as a first time customer I received free hair tonic! I couldn't have had a better experience, I will be returning!
- Pros: Great environment, welcoming staff, knowledgable stylists
- Cons: Kind of pricey but totally worth it
Thank goodness for Samuel Cole!

I am so glad to have found this salon. I used to go to a different salon not far but they closed. I saw a posting from one of the stylist's from the other salon who's working at Samuel-Cole now and I'm so glad I followed her here. I have a reason to visit Raleigh more often now, it's definitely worth the drive. MJ's an expert at threading and my eyebrows have never looked so good! I love everything about my hair and I've already sent people your way. Thanks for a great experience!
- Pros: Atmosphere, stylist, reception, products, services, attitude
- Cons: I live too far
very disappointed

I was really excited about trying the Samuel Cole Salon--especially because I found someone who specializes in curly hair. I have to say, the setting is nice and everyone was very friendly. And thats about it.
I made an appointment for a cut and full foil highlights. The stylist did spend time discussing my options with me and answered all of my questions. I told her that in the past when I've had color on my hair it turns brassy and that she would need to use bleach. She assured me that what she was using is like bleach and would NOT become brassy.
When I left the salon my hair was still somewhat wet so I did not see the outcome of the color until I got home. I loved the cut but was very upset when I saw that the color was completely uneven, blotchy in spots and no where near my scalp! The front was so bad that wearing my hair pulled back was not an option because there was one big blond streak in the middle of my head!
I went by and actually spoke with the person who assisted. She was very defensive and said that the only reason the 1 inch gap between my scalp and where the color started was a problem was because of the way I wear my hair! Which is ridiculous because if the stylist did a decent job I'd be able to wear my hair any way I wanted.
I scheduled a redo (which is a great policy) and the stylist was very nice and agreed that the color was not even. She added several more foils. However, once again I left with wet hair and when it dried I realized that she never even touched up the roots---at my part or the front! She totally missed the point. So now, a month after spending $200, several hours at this salon, and tipping the stylist and her assistant twice I am having to search for another salon to fix this brassy mess and touch up my dark "roots"! I would not recommend this salon.
Nichole is the best
by richardss at Citysearch
I have been a long time client of Nichole's and I wanted to take a moment to say what an amazing job she does on my hair. I am constantly changing what I want with my haircut and hair color and every single time I leave with beautiful hair. Most recently she has altered my color so I am ready for fall.... I feel like I should be in a magazine. I have really fine hair and she has shown me how to style it to make it look fuller. I have never had so many compliments on my hair. Love the salon and love Nichole.
- Pros: beautiful hair and good conversation
- Cons: not one

Carolyn is a rock star
by alisaoliver at Citysearch
Carolyn is a rock star, by far and exceptional stylist who I would follow to the ends of the Earth. I have been in the area close to five years and until I met Carolyn I was totally unsatisfied. If you are looking for a cutting edge, up to date, fashionable cut that works for you then you have found the right girl at the right salon.
You rock, Carolyn!
Alisa Oliver

by fashiongal90 at Citysearch
I just had my third visit with Nichole and each time my hair becomes prettier. Never in my life have I had such a great experience at a salon or loved my hair this much. Nichole takes the time to discuss with me what we should do with my hair and always has great ideas on how to make it even better. She is up on all the latest trends and I feel like my hair is right out of Vogue Magazine. Not only does my hair look amazing I have such a great time when I see her. Make sure you schedule an appointment when you have plans that night because she styles it so beautifully. Thanks Girl.
- Pros: Awesome stylist and great service
Great place to get a haircut!
by JMburkhard at Citysearch
I'm very picky with my hair. I moved from NJ/NY about 5 years ago and would still wait til I went back to visit to get my hair done. Going to this salon was the best decision! My friend recommended me to Jen Shayya, she was excellent. They welcome you when you come in, give you a chance to sit down and tell them exactly what you're looking for, she explains what she'll do, then she shampoos with a little scalp massage, then a hot wax treatment for your hands that just keeps them soft, then finally the haircut. They only use a top-of-the-line product, bumble and bumble. There aren't many salons that are exclusive bumble and bumble users..they were sought out by BandB to use their product! Finally there's also a great welcome package including discounts and free types of treatments. One of the treatments had a value of $65! There's great incentive to go back and great incentive to tell are your friends!
- Pros: Beautiful atmosphere, great treatment, and great haircut!
- Cons: none
