Crabtree Valley Mall - Crisp
by Petersloan
While enjoying all the offerings at Crabtree Valley Mall we were exhausted! The place is so large and filled with so many new and interesting stores. As we began to lose energy, we wondered into the Food Court for some energy. We came across Crisp, an upscale eatery featuring, made in front of you salads! Once we ordered, they chopped the salads "bite size" we were told, as they offered more than a dozen homemade dressings. This place truly lends its' culinary delights to the complete, shopping experiece at Crabtree.
Needless to say, we were all re-energized and went back for more shopping!
- Pros: Upscale stores and great salad store in Food Court
- Cons: Busy on a Saturday
Don't go here for Santa!!!!
by wheatherb
We took our son to go see Santa for the first time. We called to see what time and was told 10:00 a.m. When Santa had not shown by 10:20, I called the mall management (who were not available) and got security instead. I was told that they would look into it and send someone down to let us know what is going on. Noone came. I called again after waiting 15 more minutes. The "security officer" just came on duty and did'nt know anything or even the name of the previous security officer (and these people are supposed to protect us?). She said she would look into it and send someone down. Noone ever came. My 2 year old at this point is having a meltdown and we had to go. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and unexcusable. If you want your kids to see Santa, DO NOT GO HERE, THEY MAY BE DISAPPOINTED WHEN HE DOESN'T SHOW. We will no longer shop here either. There are plenty of other malls in the area.
- Pros: They have the only Disney Store in the area
- Cons: Service is horrible and unprofessional
Where you shop when you're looking for the latest and the trendiest.

In Short
With more than 220 stores, Crabtree Valley is one of the biggest malls in Raleigh, and the place you hit you when you want to peruse national chains. The list of popular stores is long and draws a crowd of folks from all over North Carolina. Anchor stores include Hudson Belk, Macy's and Sears. Other highlights include Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Crabtree and Evelyn, Sharper Image, Radio Shack and Barnes & Noble.
Crabtree is Still #1

Crabtree is definitely the best mall in the Triangle. It has everything you need, its nicely appointed, and it doesn't look like a Disney Theme park like the other two. It has the best food court by far, and its easy to navigate, just one long corridor, unlike malls such as SouthPoint, Triangle Towne, and Cary Towne that branch off in 100 different directions and you get lost trying to get back to your exit.
- Pros: Variety, Quality
- Cons: None
old news

Although Crabtree has been around and is a great mall, The Streets at Southpoint should win hands down. Not only do you have great shopping but the Main Street is different than a usual "mall". People want different...
- Pros: beautiful, parking, old news
- Cons: no nordstroms, no mainstreet, n/a
Parking IS Possible! :)
by tjhmcewan
Excepting those few times when I have lost my mind and gone to Crabtree the weekend before Christmas, I have never had trouble finding a parking space. I NEVER park on the side of Belk, and I never turn into the front (where Ruby Tuesdays and PF Changs is) to park.
I go around the back to the parking deck near Hechts and the food court. There are spots available there about 90% of the time with no hassle. (oh no, I've given away my secret! haha)
- Pros: decent shops, nicely decorated, OK parking
- Cons: expensive, not totally trendy, bad at christmas

Even though Crabtree Mall has a good selection of shops, it is a product of the era it was built. It is nothing but a shotgun mall. Only place to relax is the food court and it is architecturally challenged. Traffic is horrible too.
- Pros: jcrew, aldos
- Cons: parking, traffic, ugly
3rd place

The traffic around Crabtree is horrible at almost anytime of the day and that is the worst thing about it. The mall is stating to look plain and dated. They do have a nice food court. SouthPoint is definatley better. The new Triangle mall is slightly better.
- Pros: Varitey, food
- Cons: Parking, Traffic, old
Crab Tree Is Never Crabby
by jh280
I love the Japanese Restaurant Kanki's oddly yet perfectly found in the basement of the mall. The sushi is great. Delectable. Also the overall layout of the mall has breadth and accessibility. Also great for picking up chicks.
- Pros: excellent, nice, pretty
- Cons: none
