As Bad As It Gets ...

by RetroBird

Unresponsive and Rigid Customer Service Personnel: You Would Think That a Company in Bankruptcy Would Reign In or Discipline Middle Management Who Are Unresponsive, Smug, Condescending, and Seem to Take Pleasure in Embarrassing, Threatening, and Lying to the Customer With Threats That Are Against the Law. AVOID: These People Deserve to Shutter.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Non Existant Customer Service

An electronics store with competitive prices and friendly service.

by Contributor

In Short
Circuit City offers a good but not overwhelming selection. Showrooms are medium in size, just enough to display the brand names customers know and respect, such as Hewlett-Packard and Sony. The store carries car and home audio equipment, television accessories (even satellite TV and broadband), cameras, computers and computer accessories, and music and movies. The staff is knowledgeable, but not annoyingly passionate about printing cartridges. When a product does not function correctly, customers can take it to the on-site service center.

Don't Waste Your Money with Circuit City or Firedog

by beachbum31

My story is pretty short, but frustrating... I bought a Samsung 46" 750 flat screen tv, Sony Bluray 350, 2 Monster 700 HDMI cables, warranty, Firedog installation Service and Delivery for about $3800. Circuit City delivered the TV a couple of days later and I setup my Firedog appointment to install the TV above my fireplace then connect it to the Bluray player. Firedog came to my home on 9/3/2008 to install the tv and Bluray. The first problem was that Circuit City did not sell me the same mount that they showed me in their store. I got a Verge mount, which is junk. Aside from that, I now have 8 large holes in my wall because they tried to mount the TV and said the plug was in the wrong place, so they needed to remount it higher (hence the 8 holes). As they were tilting the tV downwards, the top right bolt fell out and the TV started to come loose. He remounted this bolt which is now bent and not flush with the wall. After calling both Firedog and Circuit City, they want to charge for the correct mount, de-installation and re-installation of the TV. They both guarantee 100% satisfaction...yeah, right. I have pictures of the job if anyone wants to see them, just e-mail me.

Bottom line...don't buy from there and if you do, spend the extra money to have a professional install it for you.

  • Pros: None
  • Cons: Quality of workmanship is terrible. Extra costs to make you happy.

Hands down the worst post sale customer service ever!!!

by GoodLife74

I won't regale you with my own testimonial of a delivery that was canceled, yet I was charged for just the same. But here's the best advice I can give you when purchasing from these guys:

-Never do delivery

-Never do installation

-Never buy anything that may require a return

That does narrow it done a bit but trust me on this one.

Abysmal - Firedog needs firing. Good riddance when they go out of business

by ravasel

This place gives the air that they know what they are doing when it comes to fixing your computer.

However, they are usually understaffed, slovenly, chaotic, unfriendly and worst of all, the charge you as if they know what they are doing, but they don't know much about fixing computers.

They charge you $65 for "diagnosing" but this doesn't include fixing anything and is used as a back-door to charge you higher charges to try to fix things (or at least pretend to), but they don't even read their own work orders as to what they supposed to do. They charge $130 to restore your system BECAUSE THESE CLOWNS DON'T KNOW HOW TO FIX ONE OR TWO PROBLEMS. By the time they are finished with their sky high charges, you may as well buy a new computer - it will be cheaper!

They don't ring you for days on end and when you ring them, they have the elegance of a monkey on "herbs" in their phone manner and have no idea about who you are, what your job order is and they can never find you in their system, which is also pathetic.

I heard that this company is on its last legs and judging by my experience, I can understand why.

Good riddance to this shambolic pack of idiots.

  • Pros: None - service is shabby, impersonal, unfriendly, discourteous and expensive.
  • Cons: Eevrything

bought an awesome sound system for my vintage car-Jay installed it by hardwiring it since there was no available harness-this guy is the best! I have never had better customer service-

by missingthecity

this store really gives great customer service. I would have spent the same amount of money and probably been left with a so so system in my vintage car-but Jay steered me to the system best suited for my needs.

If only every store had an employee as dedicated, intelligent and polite-and so willing to share his vast knowlege and experiences! I WILL be a repeat customer-
