A smoker's paradise
by alwaysopinions
Non-smokers: Make sure that you get a lung cancer screening after you leave this toxic, filthy place.
- Pros: Well, it's a place to dance
- Cons: You can smell the cigarette smoke all the way into the parking lot.
AWESOME CLUB!!
by honlee
We went there for the first time last night. Went to the Country area......where EVERYONE was having a blast!! The music was awesome!! All of the attendants were kind and respectful. Prices are great! I can't say ANYTHING bad about our time there. We spent from 9pm to 2am......and had fun every minute!! The DJ was great, music was flowing constantly. The band was ROCKIN! The band got the whole crowd involved! I definately give Longbranch 5 stars.....in every area!! I will definatly go back again and again, every weekend!! There's also dance lessons on Sunday and Tuesday nights at 8pm.
- Pros: THUMBS up on everything!! IT's awesome!!
- Cons: maybe the bathrooms could use some updating....but that's it....no more CONS!
I don't go for the staff
by gipsywing
I have been going to the Longbranch on and off for about 20 years. From what I have observed the bouncers are rude, arrogant, and lack training (and that goes for the owner as well). If there is a fight around you, you better get as far away as possible for your own safety.
The saving grace-the bartenders are beautiful, bouncy and know their stuff. The top 40 side is a blast, and the country side is great for concerts, but is pretty depressing otherwise. A real Tears in the Beer kind of a place. But for sure - it's still a guaranteed if you know what I mean ;-).
The Long Branch a great place!

After reading all of the reviews posted my wife and I were a bit hesitant about going to the Long Branch, but decided to go and were glad we did. We found the door ?bouncers? and the bartenders to be very friendly and helpful. This was our first visit and the staff at the coat check area helped in getting our membership cards in order and was very friendly and courteous. We visited all three dance venues and found that the age group was a good mix of dancers from their twenties to seventies and all friendly and sociable.
The country music band on stage was very good and the DJ in the country music area was friendly and engaging. We also found that the drink prices were fair and reasonable. The facility is showing its age but still has many more good dances left in it and we will definitely be back
- Pros: great ambience and prices
- Cons: facility showing age
Decent club, horrible staff
by scruf
I went to an event held at the LongBranch not long ago. My first experience there, and I doubt I'll go back. The bouncers at the door are complete jerks. Incredibly rude and arrogant! The club might be decent but if that is the way they treat customers then I have no plans to go back.
- Pros: Large venue with several bars.
- Cons: Rude staff at the door.
Poor customer relations and dance programs

Is this goodbye to the Long Branch
The Long Branch will probably be on the way out shortly except Friday and Saturdays, It is being destroyed from within by poor management decisions. Being the only Country Danc club in town has them treating the customers like 2nd class citizens. The Tuesday night D J and basics teachers are the pits, like drill sargents and very poor music selection. It seems the DJ's play what they want to hear and to hell with the customers. Long delays between songs and the D J leaves the booth for several songs at the time. . A lot of dance lessons have been cancelled and customers are dwindling fast. 12 customers at 9 PM on Tuesday night should tell them something.
What made the club 30 years ago was good teachers and good music and customer relations, that no longer exists except Saturday nights minus the customer relations. An Icon is fading fast, as they no longer cater to what the customers want and request. It is a take it or leave it attitude there now.
Watch for a takeover or total closing.
Now would be a good time to have a new club open it would do well and probably be the death knell for the Long Branch.
My condolences to the original owners and the faithful customers they have had over the many years.

- Pros: Very few pros anymore
Whether you're into country, Top 40 or disco, this mammoth club has something for you.

In Short
For those who prefer their hats by Stetson and their beer by Budweiser, this spot is perfect. It is known for rough ridin', boot scootin' country on its humongous wooden dance floor that features two bars in the corners. But, you get more than the top country acts touring the nation at this giant joint. There's also a cavernous dance space where DJs spin the latest hits and another huge room with electronic dance-disco tunes.
I love it

I met my hubby there 25 years ago. And we still go back. Not as much as we used to d it due to having family and all. But we look so forward to going when we can. We do go about 10 times a year and we have never had rude staff. They have always been very helpful. No customers are out of the Long Branch staff control. You can't blame them. But when I have had a problem they have handled professionally. Long Branch is our old stomping grounds. A place we have memories and a place I will always go back too. No one can change my mind. My kids are even going there now.
- Pros: good parking, price is good
- Cons: crowed but who cares.
Great live music opportunities!

I live about an hour from the Longbranch, but it is not uncommon for me to make the trek there at least once a month. Not only do you get live country band acts at low prices, but the bands will even mingle with the crowd after the concert! While living in Charleston, SC I started going out to a club much in the same fashion as this one and when I moved, I began to miss it, I am SO happy I found somewhere to go and let loose on the weekends! All the bartenders and staff have always been very polite and upbeat. They were even willing to offer suggestions based on my taste buds! Definately a recommendation for a great night out, especially if you are a country girl/boy at heart!
- Pros: covercharge, good parking, live bands
