Not worth the trip. This place is as bad inside as it looks from the outside. You walk in and see a very confusing menu, chip crumbs on the counter and 2 or 3 sketchy guys in the back making sandwiches. The philly cheese steak is not something to write home about. Not only did it take about 15 minutes, but the bread was soggy and it was much smaller than advertised. Also, you get that nasty feeling like your hands are sticky in this place, it's really not very clean.…

"It's The Service" that bites.. I refuse to take Sub-Conscious apart for just a few overly long waits for my subs; but it was 20 mins too long. I have had nothing but good food from this NCSU staple since I first journeyed there years ago...but nothing but bad service as well. After upteen years here, maybe one day they'll get faster.

That being said, my advice to the Raleigh-ites who pass this place by year-after-year and are afraid to stop, (it does look like a dive) is don't be. You'll become a fan too, just make sure you've got some spare time.…
