Best steak and cheese cake I have ever eaten.
by karwatts at Citysearch
We were invited to a seminar at this restaurant after never having tried it on our own due to the prices. I will admit it was the very best steak I have ever had and it didn't stop there. Their homemade cheese cake was to die for and the coffee was an outstanding compliment to it. While this will be a place I can only return for a very special occasion, I would highly recommend it.
- Pros: Delicious
- Cons: Pricey
Ruth Chris steakhouse

The steaks were excellently prepared, but the service felt rushed and too snobish,I feel that these prices are rediculous, they should lower their prices to service the majority of hard working americans and not just for elitist in NC.
WOW what a perfect evening

My inlaws fiftieth wedding anniversary was this weekend. We decided to tale them and several family members to Ruth' Chris. Michele and Christy along with two young men took very good care of us. They were terrific! We were seated in an area that was draped off to provide our group an intimate and secluded feeling in the busy restaurant. The food was absolutely fantastic and exactly what we expected. Several in our group had never been so Christy explained the way the menu worked. My wife had the Tuna and let me tell you, I don't know what the other reviewer received but her's was flavorful and cooked exactly as she had asked. Expensive, yes but we got exactly what we paid for and then some. Thanks Ruth's Chris and your staff members for making this a memorable occasion.
- Pros: Service was fantastic
- Cons: none
Not worth the money...

My fiance and I recently ate at Ruth Chris in Cary and were greatly disappointed. First, our salads were very boring -- salads we had recently at Bonefish Grill were much, much better and considerably less expensive. Next, our filets were overcooked -- we had ordered them medium well but there were no pink centers. In addition, they were extremely salty. I would have thought that an expensive restaurant that specialized in steaks would know how to cook one. Finally, our sides, while certainly large, consisted of watery mash potatoes and spinach.
I did take the time to write to the Ruth Chris management from their website to let them know of our experience. COO David Sadeghi wrote back to apologize but did not even include a free dessert coupon or anything to entice us back to Ruth Chris to try again.
Our dinner was about $120. I would suggest that your money would be far, far better spent at our favorite restaurant in the area, P.F. Changs. Ruth Chris is not a great value.
- Pros: Very attentive service
- Cons: Poor value, food not well prepared
wonderful service!

I've been to Ruth's Christ before, but never have I had such a wonderful experience! My server was new, I think his name was Steve, and I was delighted with the perfect wine parring he chose for us! I will defiantly be requesting him again!
- Pros: extensive wine list
not worth the money-25 dollar steaks with no salad or sides incuded

came here with a date who said the food was good. Seated promptly. Server was knowledgeable about menu and very friendly.I have been trying to eat healthy so I ordered the tuna. Big mistake. Tuna was dry with no flavor or sauce served with it. My date had steak and gave me a bite, which was very good-which I would have ordered it. Sides were not included. We ordered tomatoes and sweet potato pie as sides which were good. I can not believe that this place is so pricey and you get NOTHING with your course except a basket of bread. I did not ask what the bill was, but I know it was over a 100 bucks-and I was barely full. Meal we had the week before next door at Bonefish had flavor, a lot less pricey and I had leftovers.
- Pros: great service, our sides, wine, date's steak was delish
- Cons: wayyy overpriced,my tuna was dry with no flavor
The Steaks and Creamed Spinach are fantastic

I have eaten at a number of Ruhts Chris restaurants and the food/menu is nearly identical. We always get the Fillet (sometimes we share the large one). Order the Bearnaise sauce for your steak. We love the broiled tomatoes, spinach, among other sides. The lettuce wedge and lobster bisque are great too. The service is always great and I have never felt "looked down" on by the staff because we sometimes share the steak or salad.
Of course the steak comes out piping hot and is so tender - where do they get their meat? While I would not call it a "kids" restaurant, my teenagers love the food as well. It is their first choice for celebrating good grades or Mom's birthday. It's great for just me and the wife too. Though everything is ala carte, the sides are meant to share. If you are not a "drinker" my wife and I have gotten out of their for less than $60 by sharing the large fillet (which they split in the kitchen).
Service is good and not slow.
- Pros: Best Steaks, Creamed Spinach, Great Service
- Cons: It is not inexpensive
A wonderful romantic experience

I'll keep it short: WOW
The best steak anywhere. The service was excellent, though a bit slow. They are very expensive, but so is the experience.
- Pros: the menu
- Cons: slow service
Horrible

A party of +/- 40 of us went to Ruth's Chris. My husband's meal: great (except pricey). My meal: horrible! I ordered something that should have been a very simple request, filet mignon served medium rare. You would think an establishment of this caliber would provide me with my request. Instead I received a steak that was well done (to say the least). I was so upset that my steak was uneatable that I re-ordered the steak I requested in the first place. Needless to say, everyone was practically finishing up with their meals, enjoying desserts and coffee while I was just beginning to eat and enjoy mine. The second steak was good; I've had better and I've had worse. What really got under my skin is that the waiter had the nerve to box up the well done steak and give it to me as if to say, "Here is your free gift". Why on earth would he do that? Talk about no coothe. I mean if it wasn't good enough to eat while I was in your restaurant; then why would I bother taking it home? My husband convinced me to take the steak home - - our lab retriever enjoyed a pricey, overcooked piece of meat !This place will definitely not get anymore of my money!
- Pros: My dog ate it
- Cons: I didn't
So?

Wow.....what an experience. I can say it is not nearly as highly rated in my book as it comes across when you read the menu or think of the quality you would expect from a place with this sort of price. By far it is better to spend your money elsewhere that offers a specialty in steaks. Sadly we were not treated as we thought we should for the price we were paying. It seems that everything being a la carte made matters worse and the bill racked up, but yet we were still fairly ignored, and treated like we were at a lesser quality restaurant. I am not certain what is with all the hype. I can say the steak was good, but the attitude sort of created a lesser tasting steak. Sorry. Wish I could offer a better report....but I can't. Guess everyone has to try this place at least once.
- Pros: location
- Cons: price, food
