I found a Chinese buffet with sushi that tops Royal China!

by tara72

i was also dissapointed by the closing of Royal China, but recently i found another buffet style resturant that offered BETTER food and PLENTY of sushi that was ten times better than Royal's. it is a little pricey (about 10 bucks a person for lunch) but well worth it. it is called Grand Asia Buffet, off of Six Forks.

great sushi bar, excellent service

by heavyweightbudman

I looked forward to eating here every week for the last few years. The sushi bar was excellent and the service was great. I was very disappointed when they closed. I admit, the management needed to improve some cosmetic things in the resturant. But I always felt welcomed and my sushi appetite was always satisfied. Even though my expectations are simple (fresh food, clean setting, and friendly service), the staff at the Royal China Buffet always made the extra effort to make sure their guest were comfortable and pleased with their visit.

  • Pros: Excellent sushi and service
  • Cons: Ambience

Avoid at all costs!!

This place is not good. All of the food was bad. Sushi buffett was scary. Somehow they made the hot and sour soup have no taste at all. I am not joking when I say that I did not have one item I thought was good....desserts included. I am fairly certain this lunch trip will result in lots of bathroom time this afternoon.

  • Pros: In and out fast...
  • Cons: everything

Good Buffet

by carriems

Athough I dislike the decor, the food is really good. There is a wide selection of dishes on the buffet and if you go during regular lunch/dinner hours, the food is hotter and fresher than off-times. They also have a sushi bar and while its not up to par with upscale japanese restaurants, it is a good value and is handy when you are dining with someone who dislikes chinese food. A negative with me (a positive with others) is that the desserts are not very sweet. I go for the free ice cream instead. Have it in a bowl or cone. There seems to be a lot of asian families eating here which tells me the food may be a bit more authentic than other chinese buffets. (?). Plenty of space for large groups. I went with a group of 15 and we were placed in a private room.

  • Pros: Good Food, Good Selection, Sushi Bar

the best buffet ever

by zip

An excellent restaurant - great tasting food, nice staff, incredible selection and quality of food, THE place to go for Chinese food. Crystal Palace over on Capital Blvd. is a joke in comparison

  • Pros: Great Selection, Good Parking
  • Cons: Slightly Pricey
