Better than the one on Wycliff
by euncapher at Citysearch
I like the menu and sushi better at the Sushi Thai in Cary than the one on Wycliff. The sushi is also fresher, in my opinion. There are more specialty rolls that are not on the regular menu. The sushi bomb roll, exactly that...it was the bomb! I can't speak for their Thai food, since I've not had it at this restaurant, but the ginger salad, ika sansai, and their sushi was all very good! If you have a group of 4 or larger, I would recommend calling ahead. It's small and gets crowded quickly!
- Pros: Fresh sushi! Variety of specialty rolls.
A hidden gem - fantastic sushi
by sushigirlfriend at Citysearch
My husband, my two year old daughter and I love going to Sushi Thai. We are on a strict budget and will save money just to go here. My daughter loves the Tamago Yaki. Sushi Thai in Cary is the ONLY sushi restaurant I've been to in North Carolina that makes their own Tamago. All the others use frozen premade stuff. My husband does not eat sushi but has enjoyed the Thai Food. I have had everything from the simple but magnificent spicy tuna roll (the best I've ever had including places in South Korea and Atlanta, GA) to the huge, bountiful boats. I have graduated to the sashimi thanks to their clean, fresh tasting fish. The pieces are so mouthwatering good, even my husband tried a few pieces. It's a small restaurant and it fills up fast, so reservations are very smart. However, I've had no problems finding seats during lunch. They make everything fresh, so be prepared to wait a little bit, but it's not a ridiculous wait even during their busiest times. The waitstaff is never idle and your water glass is never empty. You can not go wrong dining in this restaurant. Enjoy!
- Pros: Fresh, crisp, clean tasting sushi. Great service.
- Cons: A little on the small size. Some tables are a bit too close together.
Awesome Thai
by artemist at Citysearch
I am new to the area and I am really glad that I found this restaurant. I was hoping to find a really good Thai place and this one is it! The Tom Kha Chicken (soup) and the pad thai are both fantastic.
Great sushi! Great Thai!
by mickey1963 at Citysearch
One of our favorite local restaurants. The food is consistently good and the service is always friendly and attentive.
The Pad Thai is outstanding as are the curry dishes. The Tom Ka is some of the best I've had anywhere. The sushi is consistently good. All in all, and excellent restaurant.
- Pros: Great food, friendly atmosphere
- Cons: small, can get crowded in the evening.
Great Place for Sushi
by sorensonjc at Citysearch
This is a great place for Sushi in the Triangle. The lunch specials are great and the value for dinner is worth it as well. Great ambiance and very friendly staff. Recommended for sushi nuts as well as first timers.
- Pros: Great Sushi, Value and Ambiance.
- Cons: None found yet.
Kid friendly to normal children
by dogs308 at Citysearch
The family that went there on July 29, 2006 and said it was not kid friendly were wrong. Everyone in the restaurant applauded when they were kicked out. We were nearby and their kids were screaming, kicking, and throwing things. They were little monsters and spoiled our otherwise great meal! This is a restaurant that loves most children.
- Pros: fresh food
- Cons: sometimes crowded

Consistently excellent food and service at Sushi-Thai in Cary
by mdbft at Citysearch
Have eaten dinner with Sushi-Thai in Cary (dine in or take out) for many years now. Have never had a bad meal. Am not a sushi eater, but love the Thai and/or Japanese dishes there. The wonderful owners know how to offer top notch service and a warm welcome every time I go. The teriyaki dishes, the pad Thai and all the delicious appetizers, including the Ebi Ten (sp?) are ALWAYS good. Yes it is somewhat expensive - but you get what you pay for - the value of the good food and excellent service here is worth the price - every time! Cary is very fortunate to have a neighborhood restaurant of the qualiity of Sushi-Thai!
- Pros: Excellence in food and service - consistently!
- Cons: crowded - (not really a con) -do take out those times
Best Sushi in the Triangle
by gts92483 at Citysearch
Sushi-Thai Cary provides the best creations and freshest sushi to the table every time I go, which is once a week. I have always enjoyed every dish, including all Thai food they serve. Personally, I recommend the Mary roll and pudding roll (last is not on the menu, and no it's not made with pudding). Best Thai food I have had there is the Spicy Basil.
And be sure you go to Sushi-Thai Cary, not the one in Raleigh. One is fresh and good, the other is cheap and you can always tell why. Different owners at each one.
- Pros: Fresh, Bright, Creative
- Cons: Location, Seating for large groups, Relatively Expensive
A Rare restaurant that offers the best of both worlds
by dulitl at Citysearch
The food is so delicious. I've been their numerous times over the past four years and every time I've gone for dinner, there has always been a crowd at the restaurant. Don't be bogged down by a few bad reviews. You can always judge a restaurant by how busy they consistently are. The fish in the sushi is always fresh because you can tell by the color of the dark red tuna and the vibrant color of the raw salmon. I have absolutely no complaints with their sushi. As for their thai food, I've yet to have a thai dish that I haven't enjoyed. Their pad thai and duck dishes are incredibly tasty.
As for the bad things, you may not get the service of a five star restaurant or the best possible table in the house, but I'm always thoroughly impressed with their food. Yes, they may be a bit pricy in comparison to other thai or sushi restaurants, but you get what you pay for, a delicious and consistent meal each and every time.
- Pros: Great food
- Cons: Service
