Too pricey for small portions by Robert P. at InsiderPages

I moved to Apex when I was 5 months pregnant and was craving Greek so i tried XIOS. I immediately liked the decor and my server was really nice. After about 3 visits for lunch, I was quickly realizing their prices were so high I couldn't get everything I wanted. The soup is a tiny tiny portion and everything took a long time. I wasn't working so I didn't mind too much, but I can't imagine work lunches going well here. Then I decided to drag my husband there for supper. It was summer and they decided to have a band outside. They opened the doors so there were bugs and flies coming in (GROSS) and it was so loud! He did not care for the food nor the price. I tried ONE more time on a night they advertised belly dancing. No belly dancer. So if you rate them ONLY on food - it's good. Everything else? Not so good.

Best Greek Food in the Triangle

OMG!!! I found this place back in April, and I love it! The food is so good! (especially the gyros and pastas) It's a really friendly atmosphere too, so I don't have to worry about dressing up or down. The best part is it tastes very authentic and doesn't drain my wallet : )
- Pros: Food, Service, Decor, Music
Average food, service is lacking

After a few visits to this restaurant I've found the food is not consistent. Some entrees have been consistently good like the Garides Saganaki, but the special sea bass I ordered most recently (1/25/08) was overcooked, charred on the outside, and very bland. It was not at all what the server described it as. The sides are usually sauteed vegetables and rice or potatoes, and the vegetables are always soggy and lack flavor. They seem to hire young and inexperienced servers here. On our most recent visit we ordered wine and our waitress failed to bring us any glasses of water. After bringing our food she disappeared, and the restaurant was not at all busy at the time. We finished our entrees, she never came to check on us or refill drinks. We kept glancing around the room looking for her, other servers saw us looking around but never approached our table to help. The hostess was standing at her station talking to 3 of the male waiters, they obviously had nothing to do. Finally my husband stood up and walked around the restaurant looking for her and she finally appeared out of the kitchen, we asked for the check and promptly left. If this restaurant wants any more of my business they need to step up the flavor of their dishes and hire some more experienced help.
- Pros: appetizers, nice atmosphere
- Cons: sometimes bland and improperly cooked entrees, service

Some of the best Greek food I've ever had! Gorgeous patio and ambience, courteous and well-trained staff. A great place to dine with family or for business. Lots of fun activities too, ie wine tasting, live music and belly dancing.
- Pros: Ambience, service, quality
