Why don't people read the contract??
by amatlack
I read all sorts of horrible reviews about O2 before I went to check it out. It seems these complaints are about (1) unfriendly staff and (2) problems being released from contract. I don't go to a gym for social actives...I go to work out. I don't need the folks at the front desk to talk with me for a half an hour. Everyone seems nice because I only exchange Hellos and Goodbyes with them. The group classes are excellent, though they're more full than I'd like on some evenings (it would be nice to have more room to move around), and the instructors are a blast, the music is awesome, and the motivation is helpful. The gym equipment is nice. My only real complaint is that sometimes the weight area is overcrowded because it's so small. I'm hoping there will be a Durham location soon. Anyway, anyone who signs things they don't read carefully gets what's coming to them.
- Pros: great classes
- Cons: not a large enough facility

Don't judge a book by its cover

First impression was great when old staff was present. The staff seems nice but after a few days they all seemed fake. I was impressed with equitment and classes but over time you'll notice everything breakes. The timings are great but parking is horrible in evenings. Be prepared to walk allot. I worked out at allot of local gyms and I prefer Impact and a few other local gyms before this. There is a few good people but after a year it has gone down hill. Citysearch has many awards for this gym but be prepared. High prices, cold enviorment, lack of courtsey, pretend to care. If this is not a factor then this is an okay place if you keep to yourself. The biggest suggestion is to look around before the bells and whisteles impress you. Good luck and good hunting. On the flip side the trainers, and teachers are much more friendlier and actually show interest and regard. - Take care
- Pros: 21 century gym
- Cons: Too much to list but shop around before you decide
Finally...A Health Club to look forward to

As soon as you walk in you can see the difference in this club from any other. Immaculate, beautifully designed and the staff...sooo friendly! I was so tired of going to Gyms that are just a big room full of equipment. There are just so many things to like about this place I can't mention them all. My favorite...The Cardio Getaway - A nice, cool and dark room with Flatscreens and best of all, it's very private - nobody staring at you while you workout. Awesome idea! I am noy usually a Group Fitness person either but the RPM (Cycling) class is the best cardio workout I've ever had. Nice, clean weight area. No waiting. Thumbs up all the way!
- Pros: Immaculate club, Great equipment, Frendly staff
- Cons: It's not in my backyard!
The best ever!!!

I am a member of O2 fitness in Cary and I love this place!! I knew from the moment I walked in I would be hooked. I have been a member of other gyms in the area and none can compare to O2. The equipment is state of the art and each machine has it's own built in TV. My favorite aspect is that I can have privacy in the Cardio hideout room and relax without distraction. The location is perfect and located in the same promenade as Ruth's Chris and Bone fish grill-how convenient!
- Pros: Great value, Clean, Friendly staff
I love O2!
by carync7
I've been going to O2 for over a year now, and I really love it there. The facility is so nice it actually makes you want to go. I've taken a couple of classes there, some are better than others. Most days they have great hours, although I would like it if they stayed open later on Sundays.
I read other reviews that said the contract is a scam, etc., but I disagree. You should read everything before you sign it, and be completely sure you understand what you're getting yourself into with any service agreement. If your signature is on that contract and you still have a problem with their policy, that's your fault, not theirs.
- Pros: Super nice facility, Staff, Hours
- Cons: Sunday Hours
DON'T SIGN THE CONTRACT --30 mile radius
by lfazal
Young professionals/ students 02 fitness is NOT for you. They lied right to my face, they said, "if you move more than eight miles from the gym, we'll end your contract." Nine months later I moved 15 miles away. Gas prices the way they are, I couldn't afford to go. I decided to end my contract. The manager said, "read your contract." I could not believe my eyes!! It said you can move eight miles from your old house to your new house, but still needs to be thirty miles from the gym. SCAM!!! Please explain that. Why don't they just say thirty miles. So now I will be paying for a gym, I can't go to. If your starting careers, or moving o2 fitness is NOT for YOU. When I tell the staff my situation, they say " sorry the OWNERS won't let you out of your contract.
- Pros: nice facilty, clean, nice equipment
- Cons: 30 mile radius, no headphones, not many classes
