Great Screen, Horrible Service
by jirobinson13
I paid online (which is an extra $1.50 per ticket and $2.00 processing fee) to get tickets for a 7:00 showing of Star Trek on Thursday May 14th and was at the Imax at 6:30 to claim the tickets. I had to wait 30 minutes in the line to purchase tickets, not a separate designated line. By the time i get my tickets and i'm in the theater the only spots left are front and to the far side. I sat about 20 feet away from the screen to the far left, where I couldn't actually see the top of the screen and barely the right side. Plus, I had to look almost straight up just to see anything. I paid $13.45 a ticket+$2.00 to have a huge neck cramp, headache, and back ache for 2 hours. I made attempts to contact Marbles, which ended in them telling me they don't allow refunds and cannot do anything. I've been watching movies at this Imax for years now and after this experience I have to say i'm done. The worst part of this is I cannot even say if the movie was good or not.
- Pros: Big Screen
- Cons: There is NO service
Great Viewing Experience, Don't Go At Night....Beware of Blattas
by Random77
We went to see the 7pm showing of Dark Knight and the viewing experience was absolutely wonderful. The screen was huge and made you feel like you were actually in the movie and the surround sound was perfectly crisp. However, the seats are not very comfortable (they don't recline and the cushions aren't very soft) and the theater itself is a little on the small side. Unfortunately, once we exited the theater there were hundreds of BLATTAS swarming all over the walkway from the entrance/exit doors all the way past the Children's Museum! We had to actually jump over them as we half walked briskly and half jogged to the safety of the street corner. It was absolutely disgusting!!! If you go, just go during the day as the night will bring out BLATTAS that range from 2 to 3 inches in length. If you are adamant about going at night, make sure you wear closed toe shoes.
- Pros: Screen Size, Surround Sound
- Cons: Atmosphere outside of theater. Disgusting and overrun by Blattas
This wide-angle screen swallows its audience for a true movie experience.

In Short
The screen here is so large that it practically engulfs the audience--you find yourself gazing up and around as the wide angle screen draws you into the action. The experience is so real that you become a part of the scenery: flinching, feeling, flying. Imax runs films specially made for this type of screen. It usually features soaring landscapes, perfectly-shot nature footage and enough action to take your breath away.
Biggggg Screen

I never seen a screen this big, it was quite an experience. However you can not have any food in there bummer.
Huge!

Finally I don't have to drive to Myrtle Beach for the Imax experience! The movies that are generally shown are in documentary format. Each film I have seen here has been wonderful. Mysteries of Egypt is my favorite.
- Pros: Seating
Great experience

WE found this a wonderful experience. You were engrossed in the movie, not just watcing it from afar. I highly recommend it for all ages, but especially children.
