What could represent the City of Oaks better than a giant copper acorn in the middle of a public square?

Moore Square is home to Raleigh's beloved acorn sculpture. Artist David Benson designed this half-ton copper squirrel snack to commemorate the city's bicentennial. It was privately commissioned, exempting it from complaint by local politicians.
