Would not recommend them.
They do a good job selling and installing their equipment but when it comes time to work on it they fail.
I've got a 2 year old Lennox system from them and every time it has a problem it takes 3 or 4 visits before they ever find the problem and fix it.
Installed My System. Installed my heat pump, did a great job. Completed in one day.

Great service. The technician arrived on time and quickly identified the problem with a contact that caused the air conditioning to quit working. I did not report the problem until 8am and the air was fixed before 1pm. Great service and tech was very nice

Scam on Crawl Space Dehumidification. Service Experts Heating and Air Conditioning from Raleigh came for regular maintenance check and tried to rip us off for a $4000 underground insulation package and house sealant. They had a hard sell that our crawl space was wet, needed plastic, had insulation coming down, and more. I checked and it was dry and dusty, had plastic that I put down at least as thick as they recommended, and they had torn down some insulation that was fine before they come. Stay away!!

Service Experts, Raleigh, NC. I too am very disappointed in this outfit. Similar experience w/ two weak Capacitors. was charged very inflated (almost insulting) charges. Paid $362 for $45 worth of capacitors...It translates into $317 labor plus $104 service charge...close to a surgeon's rate. Was there about an hour. High pitch sales job to get inflated annual service agreement too. Rest assure I'll be looking hard for an alternative. Also will purchase a couple of capacitors for future backup. Its the most common problem so why not simply replace them and see if it fixes the problem before calling an HVAC service. They did respond quickly, fixed the problem and was out. Most folks will be sticker shocked...but if they have the extra $ will be "fixed" quickly.
AC capacitor boke. Stay away from this company! They'll charge you $99 just to come and look at your system and if you need service they'll charge you an arm and a leg... my ac has a problem with the capacitor, and the fan out side didn't turn on. they replaced the capacitor and charge me $240 + $99 service fee... i just looked up online and for my system, the capacitor only cost $30

I have used the Service Experts twice and both times I was overcharged. I thought I had no choice because the house they were doing work on is rented out (I'm a landlord) and I'm out of town. They were quick and got the job done, but I could not afford what they wanted to charge me the third time I called for a repair.
First off, they charged almost $100 to do the estimate, which would be understandable except that after I waited a few days then called back to ask more about the project they wanted to send someone back out to look at the broken HVAC again and charge another $100 bucks!
Also, they gave me a quote of about $5,000 to repair an upstairs HVAC in the house, and because I couldn't afford that I started checking out my other options. Then I found out a friend could give me a working A/C unit for free and I asked the Service Experts people if they would install it. The woman on the phone assured me they would, but said it probably wasn't a great idea since they wouldn't be sure it was the right fit for my house. I checked the units and the match was very close, and when I called back to have them install it a mechanic got on the phone and barked at me that he wouldn't do such a job and he doesn't know of any licensed repairman that would (because of liability). When I told him a woman from his company had told me this was a feasible option he made a misogynistic comment about how the girls that work there aren't mechanics and have no clue what they are talking about half the time.
And finally, you should be advised that if they have your phone number they will call you at random times long after the work has been done to tell you when your HVAC needs to be checked up on (and I'm sure they will charge $100 just to come over and give it the check-up).
They will gip you! Do not use this company.. Our heat went completely out during the winter and we quickly called the first HVAC company we found, Service Experts. They came out, charged $1000 to fix. A year later the problem occurred again. We called Service Experts again hoping they would help us since they fixed the problem earlier, but again they said it would cost $800 to fix. The technician suggested we get a whole new system which runs anywhere from $3000 to $7000. Instead we called another HVAC company to get a second opinion. They came out and said nothing was wrong with our system that a small tube needed to be cleaned out. The technician cleaned out the tube and our heat works fine! We will NEVER use Service Experts again!
I've been with Service Experts for almost 2 years and have been extremely impressed. I used to be with a small, local company that was really cheap, but they just didn't have the manpower to take care of their customers when you really needed the service that same day and they weren't nearly as professional and knowledgable as S.E.
yes, their prices are a little bit on the higher end for repairs and new systems, but they will go out of their way to make sure that you are completely satisfied so it is worth it. I have recomended them to several neighbors and when I saw such low reviews on here, I had to speak up! and by the way, they have always been rated #1 or #2 on Angie's List so do not take these reviews too much to heart.
Rip Off/Scare Tactics.
Everything replaced in 2004, duct work, heat pump, air handler, humidifier and purifier.
Lost heat twice that first winter due to a blown fuse, traced back to a instillation problem. Was suppose to be fixed. The following years we have lost heat in the winter at least once a year. Sometimes due to the unit freezing up, sometimes due to a blown fuse. We have lost AC due to malfunction 2 different summers. The last one (another reviewers same week, temps were over 105F!) was a misdiagnosis that lead to over 6 days without AC and we were still charged for the work done AND the diagnosis. We have had the twice a year maintenance package that was suppose to check the functionality of the system and replace filters. When we started having bloody noses this winter and decided to check to see if the humidifier was working properly. Found out that the filter for that was suppose to be changed at the beginning of the heating season but hadnt been touched since we had the unit installed. It was moldy enough to make us sick. We have since easily changed the filter ourselves. The Aprilair purifier, we were informed isnt working properly and would need roughly $1200 worth of work to get it functioning again. The tech suggested replacing it with a new Lenox. It was $2000 after $1000 off. We will be replacing the entire unit with a newer model of what we already have for under $500. Less than an hours worth of work for a trained professional.
We really do not appreciate the scare tactics. First with getting the entire unit replaced, then with the filter issues (just get a new one!), lastly with the 'only solution' to our summer time humidity 'problems' was a $3000 central air dehumidifier.
For us the service plan was a lot of money ($120 + filter costs but NOT the humidifier filter!) for nothing. The scare tactics were alarming and the work was grossly over priced. We were charged for a misdiagnosis! Go with a local contractor. Jeff Daulton does great work. 919-644-0800
