So I work around the corner from this place and my coworkers and I frequently eat here. I have tried a bunch of things from the menu and have never been disappointed. The pad thai especially delicious. I saw a review that said they don't split checks but we get our checks split all the time.

I will agree it isn't always the fastest place to dine, but that's because it is pretty busy at lunch time and they only have so many servers. It's fine if you go at a less busy time in the afternoon.

Very Inconsistent food... arrogant manager. I love thai food and sushi and I was very happy to see this one open up very close to my house. I have had some very good food here and some horrible ones. it is just not consistent at all. Service is ok.

I am very familiar with thai food and have had it for years. Even with the inconsistencies, I had been frequenting the place becasue it was just so convenient for me. However, after once takeout, I have had enough and called up the manager and complained that one of the dish had problem and we have had a lot better at his restaurant other times. His response was, "This is how we cook our food. If you do not like it, there is nothing we can do". I was just baffled by his response.

Subpar Sushi, Miserable Service. What a disastrous dining experience. It took 30 minutes just to get a drink. It took 3 hours to eat because it took so long to get our food and check and when our food came our waiter couldn't even tell us which sushi rolls were what. He was completely incompetent. At the end of the night, we presented our Living Social coupon and they didn't honor their daily buy one sushi roll get one free. They tricked us at the end of our order and charged us full price and the waiter even lied about it to our faces like we weren't going to notice. When we talked to the manager about our poor experience he said, "What do you expect, the restaurant is at full capacity?" As if we were to blame for his inability to run a restaurant. Will never go there again. The people next to us in the restaurant were complaining about the same thing. Shiki Sushi in Durham is much better - the sushi, the selection, and the service, and so is Kurama in Chapel Hill. Their prices are also more reasonable. Really anywhere but this underhanded establishment would be better.

Great Food. We eat here often and the food is always good. The lunch prices are great, dinner (entrees)... for this type of food, a little high and you don't get much more than at lunch (you could go to PF Changs for about the same amount.) I would recommend giving it a shot.

The sushi prices are really good though.

Updated Review 1/8/2011 (previous review 11/2010). UPDATE: I ordered takeout from here and was quite disappointed in one of the dishes. I ordered the same special I had when I ate in the restaurant - the Ocean Trio - and this time it was awful. It was not even the same sauce at all and was severely lacking flavor and MEAT! So, I would say this place has some consistency issues. That said, my boyfriend ordered the beef Pad See Ew (? spelling) and it was excellent (and $3 less than my entree was!). So, I will still keep 4 stars for now and will go back but this was quite disappointing after having such a good first experience.

Previous Review:

First of all, let me say that I noticed the "no split checks" on the menu immediately - they certainly are not hiding that. Anyway, this was one of the best dinners we have had in a while! The spring rolls were better than any other spring or egg rolls nearby - loaded with meat and flavor with an excellent spicy/sweet dipping sauce. We also had two sushi rolls which were fresh, tasty, and presented very well. Also, we ordered one of the specials - Ocean's Trio. This dish was some of the best, freshly prepared food I have had in a long time.

In addition to the fantastic food, the service was just as spectacular! I can't say enough about this place! Although we went here this first time with a gift certificate, I know we will be going back and I look forward to it!

Won't Split Checks...food is good.. I gave Thai's Noodle only 2 stars because of their payment policies, not the food which is pretty good. They will not split checks if anyone at the table orders sushi. I'm assuming this is because the sushi is buy one get one free and they believe that their customers will try to scam them somehow.

The unfortunate thing is that they will be turning away a good number of lunch time customers because of this policy. Not many people go to lunch on 'dates' or with family where one person is going to pay. Typically when I go to lunch it is with my co-workers and it is a giant pain if they will not split the check. So much that we probably won't go back.

Went here the other day with a few family members and the waiter refused to split the check into 3 parties (2 couples and 1 single). One person just paid for all of it and said she would NEVER be back because of it. Looking at the check and the sushi that we would have gotten 'free' if the waiter had split the checks there was a difference of about $5 (in favor of the restaurant). Basically this restaurant just lost a customer, who eats sushi all the time, over $5.

Thai Noodles should do some research into how all the other buy one get one free sushi places are doing checks. Tasu, Shiki, and Asuka ALL split checks at lunch and they are all busy at lunch with people on their lunch breaks. I'll definitely choose Tasu or Asuka (both about 5-10 minutes from Thai's Noodle) over Thai's Noodle in the future when I'm with co-workers because I know there won't be an issue there.

Hopefully Thai's Noodle will get it together soon. I would hate for them to fail because I love sushi and actually thought theirs was decent, but I think with this current policy they will have very few repeat customers.

excellent experience all around. Service was excellent, sushi rolls were fresh, beautiful and delicious. I loved my stir fried udon noodles and my husband loved his thai garlic sauce chicken. beer was reasonably priced, too.

I think it is a cheap shot for a disgruntled employee to post here and it's not a chain so I wonder if the other reviewer posted their review to the wrong restaurant. I am a passionate cook and foodie and this was not bland, cookie cutter food. It was fresh, hot, very flavorful.

Worst place to serve at. Thai's Noodle is aGreat place to eat. Horrible place to work. I have served at a few restaurants and never have left a place crying until working just 2 weeks for Thai's Noodle. They expected perfection and nothing less but only gave me a day of training. When I needed help they expected since I had serving experience that I would never need help even during the lunch rush. I was told to never disagree with the owner that he was always right and to say yes to everything not to ask questions. They said they would give me another chance when I did not even know I had taken any chances. Needless to say one of the worst places to work at if you are a girl and not Asian. So if you are wanting to work somewhere that you feel you can learn and ask questions. Not the place to work. But I did love the food!

Chain Store Thai. Bland, processed food. I think I could have made this at home. No spice, no texture no flavor. No plans for a return trip here.
