Horrible place.
I used to like these apartments, but they have gone downhill badly in the last two years.
There are at least two drug dealers living on my street, and an apartment a couple doors over is host to strippers advertising "A dance and a f***" for only $100. And no, I am not joking. They turn the music up so loud when they're "entertaining" that I can feel the bass.
This month, the apartment staff decided to post eviction warnings on every door in my building, as they've decided to no longer honor the 5-day grace period I was promised when I signed my lease.
I was told that rent was due by the 5th of the month before being considered late, and I've made use of that 5-day period when dropping off the check by the 1st was inconvenient. This month, this is apparently no longer allowed. Instead of sending a letter about this change, they dropped off a letter threatening my eviction - 5 minutes before the office closed. So when I tried to call to complain, they were conveniently unavailable. My neighbors all have similar letters, and there are letters on every apartment I can see.
They also raised my rent for no reason when I renewed my lease, including a $2 increase in my trash charge, which I pay with my rent. The joke? I got a bill from the trash collectors, which happens occasionally (they seem to forget that Mission Capital pays the trash bill), and it hadn't gone up at all. The liars just wanted to charge me an extra two bucks. It's ridiculous.
Some of the staff are okay, but the woman in charge is a horrible, fake liar who's only interested in making money. It's a real pain even to speak with her.
The leases are horrible; *make sure* you read over it, as I found that many of the details I was told by the salesperson when we reviewed it are incorrect. Don't you love being lied to? Oh, and if you don't give notice two months before you plan to move out, you'll be charged for those two months even if your lease is up.
I hate this place.
Okay.
There are advantages and disadvantages just like anything else! I assume they base how much you pay on how much you make.
Their prices aren't bad so the square feet! That's an advantage.
The aptments are older so there are different kinds of creatures you may see every now and then like water eugs, silverfish, and weird looking/acting spiders. This is a disadvantage.
Another advantage is the friendly staff and it's close to pretty much everything!
The review wouldn't let me type the b-word that why it says water eugs!
