Tips for Rum Runners

The Raleigh Rum Runners is Certainly not the best of this chain. this place is pretty entertaining but it can get way too crowded at times. the prices are certainly fair for the drinks (unless you're taking shots) the employees are a HUGE downfall to this particular rum runners. i have witnessed several unprofessional interactions with the employees and their customers. the bartenders seem to be more worried about their tips than anything else. on one particular instance, i was ordering several drinks and apparently their bartenders have a 4 second attention span because he simply stopped listening to my order and served someone else AS I WAS ORDERING. thus, i usually avoid this place unless i feel obligated. the rum runners in wilmington is 1000x better, its almost worth the drive!

An island-themed chain bar that serves up libations to tunes played from ivory keys.. In Short
Mix one part tropical paradise and one part rowdy piano bar and you get the unique flavor of this hot spot. Vibrant tropical flowers and thatched tiki huts give the atmosphere a Caribbean feel. The bar serves fruity drinks and pub grub, but the stars of the club are the two dueling baby grand pianos on a stage in the main bar. There's also acoustic music and karaoke in the smaller bar.

Let loose. My group of friends has made this our weekly outing on Wednesdays because you can get in free before 8pm and mixed drinks are only $1. The piano players are very talented and they play whatever you request, oldies, rock n' roll, country, pop, etc. The menu is also good with chicken wings, quesadillas, mushrooms, cheesesticks, and even fried pickles. We never stay very late though because it starts to get crowded around 10pm, but that's fine with me because I'm not exactly a night owl anyway.

Dueling pianos with pizzazz. Rumrunners is a great change of pace from the same old nightclub. Dueling piano players Wed through Sun nights take requests and get the audience invloved in hilarious (and sometimes naughty) singalongs. Get their early (before 8) as the tables fill up fast near the stage and it's standing room only near the bar! Come out early to park and walk around Raleigh's City Market downtown and you're right there at Rumrunner's when the pianos start slammin'!
