Onsite Management Doesn't Care. We have frequented this restaurant at least twice a month for the past year but tonight was our last visit. We had received a gift certificate from Restaurantcom and were excited to see Los Tres listed. We asked before ordering if we were ok--yes---but when it came time to check out we were told that we needed a bill of $10 higher then listed on the website in order to use our certificate---our $38 bill would not work with the $45 requirement. The manager blamed the website even though the certificate had the amount in black and white AND the difference was so minimal. She offered no options except that we pay the full amount (...not even to add food to our bill). Truly feel that this was false advertising and if our bill had been $45 she would have requested $50.

Poor service has finally driven us away after many years. My family and I have been customers of Los Tres Magueyes since they opened this location (now called Los Tres Vaqueros) several years ago - I'm not sure exactly how many, but my son was in cub scouts at the time and now he's starting college, so that should give you some idea. We would eat there maybe once or twice per month, sometimes for lunch, sometimes for dinner.

In my opinion, the food has always been no less that quite good (usually excellent), the menu relatively extensive, the portions generous, and the pricing quite affordable.

Over the years, the service has varied quite a bit. We long ago decided that given the restaurant's positives, we could put up with the lapses in quality service. Up until about a year ago, you had maybe a 50/50 shot of obtaining good service. However, over the past year, the service has taken a substantial nosedive. The last time my wife and I visited, which was maybe a month ago, we were all but ignored....it was as though we were actually bothering them.

About a week ago, my wife and I decided we wanted a Mexican lunch. On our way out the door though, we realized that neither of us had any desire to deal with the horrible service we were sure to get at Los Tres. We ended up having Chinese instead, and are now searching for a new restaurant to replace what had been our only Mexican restaurant of choice for years.

To the management of Los Tres Vaqueros: If you're reading this, I would suggest that when and if you ever get these issues straightened out, you put a large banner across the front of your location proclaiming the return of quality service. If you do that, you may stand a chance of recapturing the business of those like myself whom you've driven away.

Squeezed us in last year on Cinco de Mayo. Last year they were able to squeeze us in on Cinco de Mayo. They were getting ready to close for a private party, but when they found out it was only my son and I, they told us to come on in. Our meal was hot and fresh....and delicious!

Horrible service. I'm not hard to please, but this place has the worst customer service I've seen. I've been there several times to give them the benefit of the doubt (maybe it was the server, too busy, etc) but each time is worse than the last. It's a shame because their food is ok...but the service makes me say I won't be going back. There are too many other mexican restaurants that actually want the business and appreciate it.

Disappointing Mexican food, bad service, they don't care anymore!. The manager used to be onsite always, making this the best Mexican restaurant in Raleigh. Over the last four months or so, we have not seen him when eating there. The result -- the food has lost its luster, the wait staff seems robotic and the hostesses are downright rude. We used to love receiving the valuable coupons and would eat there at least twice a month. Tonight was our last night there. The food was just so-so and when we went to the counter to check out, the three women who work the counter and seat people were playing a video game at the bar. They saw us standing there, but didn't hurry to check us out. Well, guys, there are too many other places we can eat where the food and service are excellent. Adios.

Raleigh Location Has Serious Customer Service Issues. It is such a shame that a restaurant that has such excellent food- also has such deplorable customer service! My husband and I have dined at this location many times and had enjoyed ourselves. We were pleased to receive coupons in the mail for a place we actually go to! Unfortunately, on two separate occasions now the cashier (2 different ones) has tried to reject the coupon! It's unfortunate that an otherwise lovely meal is spoiled unnecessarily by cashiers who are obviously trained to try and get out of giving the discount.

A reality check needs to occur at this location- this is Raleigh- there are plenty of dining establishments that *do* have good customer service. We don't need the hassle.

**** This location has changed it's name to Los Tres Vaqueros****

above average mexican. small dining area, but decorated great. food was very good. margaritas had very little- if any- liquor in them. don't order the picher of drinks-it's 50% ice. ok on service-not much personality, but they do leave you alone. a great selection of entrees -you wont leave hungry!

Great food overshadowed by horrible service. Our entree order was lost and after replacing it, we still waited over 30 minutes for our food. After losing our order, our waiter seemed to be lost also. He rarely emerged from the kitchen and when he did he never checked on our table. We had to ask other staff for drink refills, extra chips, even our check. When we complained to the hostess/cashier, she never apologized or offered any type of discount.

Great food.....awful service. Such a shame.

Great Mexican Restaurant across the board. My husband and I are Mexican food freaks, we love it and always have. We have tried most all of the authentic Mexican restaurants in the North Raleigh area and this one wins (it doesn't win by much over El Rodeo at Pleasant Valley, but a close win). The parking is fine, lines are usually bearable when we go, service is fast and good, food is all delicious, and prices are reasonable. Atmosphere is fun and nice. Drinks are good too. Can't beat it if you want good Mexican. We've never been to the Cary location, this is the location on Falls of Neuse/Strickland. Enjoy!

Review. My wife and I lived in Cary, NC for many years and feel that Los Tres Magueyes in Cary is decidedly better than the restaurant at the Raleigh location. We have eaten at both locations and find the food at the Cary location much tastier.
