Worst service and management. Don't bother with this place. We went there on Valentine's Day and were very disappionted. Bad service and overpriced/mediocre food. It took 25 minutes before anyone took our order and that's after I had to flag a busboy down to get our waiter/waitress. If the waiter/waitresses weren't too busy BSing with each other, there wouldn't be us unhappy customers. Another customer left yelling how bad the service and food was as well. We wanted to complain about the service, but the manager, I think his name is Adam, just quickly apologized but didn't do anything. I will never be back.
One of my favorite restaurants!!. I do not have one negative thing to say about Winston's. The food is always great, the service is great and it's always a pleasurable experience. I try to hang out here once or twice a month at the least. We almost always sit in the bar area or at the bar and two of my favorite bartenders are always on point. :) Winston's has what I can best describe as a casual elegance. I feel comfortable dining here in jeans, work clothes, or even dressed up for a night out. I have yet to find a better crab dip anywhere (and I try crab dip at any restaurant that has it, no matter what). The Black & Bleu salad is my favorite salad on the planet and the b/f is obsessed with the French Dip. All desserts and ice cream is homemade and fabulous! If you have no food in the fridge or you're looking for a new restaurant to try or if you just want some good food and drinks - Winston's is where you should go for sure. Oh....and reasonably priced too!
Great time! Great Food!.
To the Winstons Grille folks: Thanks so much. Fantastico....Again!
Over many years - The Very Best! Took some out-out-town guests from Richmond, VA. Great food, superb atmosphere - staff always top notch, friendly. It is what dining out is all about. K. Humphrey
Great experience - every time!.
We have been going to Winston's off and on for many, many years now (when we lived in Chapel Hill, we didn't go as frequently due to the drive). I've been several times recently, and I've been amazed how the quality of food and service has remained consistently great over all these years. Even with updates to the decor and menu over time, I know that when our family goes there, we'll leave having had a great experience.
The service is great - the wait staff are well-trained and very friendly. As far as the food goes - I tend to get a daily special, and some of my recent favorites are the meatloaf (great comfort food meal, especially in the winter), the shrimp and mango salad, nut crusted tilapia, pumpkin cheesecake... and my old menu standbys are the crab dip, calamari, chicken salad (best in town, if you like grapes in your salad!), "black and blue" salad, sesame tuna salad, gumbo, triple crown, and ribs. My husband loves the filet, pork loin, and french dip. I've tried their ice cream, too, which is to die for. Boy, this is making me hungry... Gotta figure out when I can go next!
Excellent food and service. At Winstons Grille, I have had some of the best service I have ever had anywhere. The triple crown and the Filet were super. Great taste and timely service. The atmosphere was very pleasant and my family and I had a really good experience. I recommend Winstons for a good family night out.
Great Customer Service. Winstons is the most reliable dining experience in town. I know I can go there for a great piece of fish or steak, but at the same time Winstons offers such a wide range, I can simply go there for a great app with a nice bottle of wine. Great for all occasions!
Unbelievable!. My family and I have recently moved to Raleigh and were looking for a place to make our "regular" thursday night spot. We've definitely found it! We have been to Winston's the last three weeks in a row and couldn't be more pleased with our experiences. From the moment we walked in, we received a warm welcome followed by incredible service. My husband has fallen in love with the Ribeye, which has been cooked to perfection every time, and myself with the Sesame Tuna Salad. The atmosphere is comfortable and the service has been spectacular each visit. The staff has already learned our names and greet us when we arrive. I haven't seen a restaurant this committed to customer service in a long time and it doesn't hurt that their food is incredible!!
Overrated.
I've eaten here with my family twice now and both times were substandard.
The restaurant is on the loud side. My filet migon wrapped in bacon was burnt to charcoal consistency and lacked any kind of presentation. The side dish was plain and seemed lost on the plate. The menu is unimaginative and bland. Maybe it's good for a burger but don't expect fine dining. I'd also say it is more like three $ and you don't get nearly the dining experience for that kind of money.
Great entrees and homemade desserts. Winston's is one of our favorite restaurants. We usually to go Winston's with friends on Fridays, so we always make reservations because there is often a wait on the weekends. They have yummy specials - two of our recent faves were the shrimp & grits and salmon with a vanilla/Chardonnay reduction. The regular menu items are also fresh and tasty (we love the salads, burgers, Reubens, and cashew salmon). The desserts are so delicious, it's hard to choose between the homemade ice cream and the bananas foster or key lime pie! Combine this great food with the friendly, attentive staff and you have a restaurant that earns lots of loyal customers.
Hamburgers are heavenly.
Went to Winston's on Falls of the Neuse saturday nite after the movies(went to see The Queen at the Rialto first). anyhoo the same old song was sung, "sorry there are no available tables."
So we said that we would eat at the bar but if a table became available while we had a drink-let us know, as we would prefer that. Well, had a drink and then ordered sandwiches figuring that would be good at the bar. A few minutes later- GUESS WHAT? Yes a table had been found! A miracle! The sandwiches were excellent and a great value for the price. Their hamburger is still the best in town. However, we would have liked a more leisurely dinner with wine, salad, entree and dessert, so thank you snobby hostess who told us there were no tables- you saved us a bundle of money!
