In Short – With more than 220 stores, Crabtree Valley is one of the biggest malls in Raleigh, and the place you hit you when you want to peruse national chains. The list of popular stores is long and draws a crowd of folks from all over North Carolina. Anchor stores include Hudson Belk, Macy's and Sears. Other highlights include Pottery Barn, Crate and Barrel, Restoration Hardware, Ann Taylor, Banana Republic, Crabtree and Evelyn, Sharper Image, Radio Shack and Barnes & Noble.

Editor's Tips

When to Go:
During the holidays, Santa Claus arrives at this upscale Raleigh mall. He's available every day until December 24. Parents can bring cameras, but professional photographers are also available.
Parking:
Though there are several parking decks, finding a spot can be a challenge.

ended up here all the time cause my girlfriend worked a 21. here's a hint. NEVER try to turn into the first or second entrances as you come off the beltline. go down to creedmoor, take a left, and head in the back entrance.

  • Pros: good selection of stores
  • Cons: congestion central

Don't go here for Santa!!!!

by wheatherb at Citysearch

We took our son to go see Santa for the first time. We called to see what time and was told 10:00 a.m. When Santa had not shown by 10:20, I called the mall management (who were not available) and got security instead. I was told that they would look into it and send someone down to let us know what is going on. Noone came. I called again after waiting 15 more minutes. The "security officer" just came on duty and did'nt know anything or even the name of the previous security officer (and these people are supposed to protect us?). She said she would look into it and send someone down. Noone ever came. My 2 year old at this point is having a meltdown and we had to go. I understand that mistakes happen, but the way the situation was handled was completely unprofessional and unexcusable. If you want your kids to see Santa, DO NOT GO HERE, THEY MAY BE DISAPPOINTED WHEN HE DOESN'T SHOW. We will no longer shop here either. There are plenty of other malls in the area.

  • Pros: They have the only Disney Store in the area
  • Cons: Service is horrible and unprofessional

Crabtree Valley Mall - Crisp

by Petersloan at Citysearch

While enjoying all the offerings at Crabtree Valley Mall we were exhausted! The place is so large and filled with so many new and interesting stores. As we began to lose energy, we wondered into the Food Court for some energy. We came across Crisp, an upscale eatery featuring, made in front of you salads! Once we ordered, they chopped the salads "bite size" we were told, as they offered more than a dozen homemade dressings. This place truly lends its' culinary delights to the complete, shopping experiece at Crabtree.

Needless to say, we were all re-energized and went back for more shopping!

  • Pros: Upscale stores and great salad store in Food Court
  • Cons: Busy on a Saturday

Crabtree is Still #1

by downtownraleighjus10 at Citysearch

Crabtree is definitely the best mall in the Triangle. It has everything you need, its nicely appointed, and it doesn't look like a Disney Theme park like the other two. It has the best food court by far, and its easy to navigate, just one long corridor, unlike malls such as SouthPoint, Triangle Towne, and Cary Towne that branch off in 100 different directions and you get lost trying to get back to your exit.

  • Pros: Variety, Quality
  • Cons: None
2.5 Star Rating: Below Average

old news

by tifllan at Citysearch

Although Crabtree has been around and is a great mall, The Streets at Southpoint should win hands down. Not only do you have great shopping but the Main Street is different than a usual "mall". People want different...

  • Pros: beautiful, parking, old news
  • Cons: no nordstroms, no mainstreet, n/a
