If only I could give LESS than one star..... *Food-mediocre at BEST (I've had better at Taco Bell) and WAAAAAAAAAAY overpriced--$50 for 2 chicken chimichangas, 2 margaritas and a beer. Wow. Really? I wanted to throw it up so I could return it and get my money back.

*Service--slow since our waitress was preoccupied with SOMETHING more important than us AND they stuck us in a corner next to a table with 2 screaming babies-NOT cool-we moved

*Alcohol-Corona is Corona, but the margaritas were lacking flavor besides tequila

*My advice--if you want authentic, delicious Mexican that won't drain your wallet, THIS ISN'T THE PLACE TO GET IT! I will NEVER go back. Ugh.

Not a good experience. Definitely NOT worth the 40 mins we waited to be seated (after being told when we called from the car there was no wait....we arrived 8 mins later). Then after we were seated, we waited another 45 mins for our food to arrive.....not cool when you have 3 hungry children. The waitress was pleasant but came by every 10 mins telling us that the food will be here in "just a couple of minutes..." Of course, that is always the signal words that mean your food has even been started by the chef yet. We will not be going back.

Great atmosphere, terrible food. My husband and I just moved here from Asheville. Wanted to find a good Mexican spot. I read the good reviews and we wanted to try it out. It's very unique and has a cozy and romantic atmosphere. We loved the lighting and the train. The food, however was another story. That's why I give it 2 stars. The price was very high so I expected the food be a good amount and tasty. It was very bland and small portions. My husband got the fajitas, which just came with a few pieces of chicken, some onions and side of lettuce, guac and sour cream. No beans, no rice, nothing. The meat wasn't tasty at all. I could have made it much better at home. $14 for that, which was an outrage. I got the tostadas which were 3 small bowls (not flat tortillas) of meat and veggies. No taste either. I would consider that an appetizer, it was $12. We didn't even get to order drinks because the meals were so expensive and we were expecting average prices. Maybe we are spoiled by Asheville's great food, but the prices should be the same. Are there good Mexican restaurants in Raleigh? I hope so. I was really upset to pay that much for the amount and quality, and I was hungry when I left. I barely ate anything. It's too bad because we love the place. I don't think we'll be going back.

Amazing food and atmosphere.. I've been going to Dos Taquitos for years now and have turned many friends onto it. The food always tastes amazing and fresh (because it is). Don't listen to the haters on here who seem to have personal issues with the place.

The decor and ambience is really cool. Very Mexi-kitch and every now and then I hear a little Cafe Tacvba on the sound system. Frida Kahlo is everywhere which is pretty amazing and artistic. The whole decor is very artistic and inviting.

The only issue I have with Dos Taquitos is that they claim they are authentic Mexican cuisine. I think they would be better off saying they serve Latin cuisine because a lot of the dishes are South American as well. Then maybe some people would stop whining about how "it's not REAL mexican" or "psssst, the owners are Columbian"(which I find to be irrelevant and mildly racist).

Personally I enjoy the fact that they offer a variety of different Latin cuisine. If I want authentic Mexican, I know where the taquerias are. It's a little harder to find garnachas like these. Even the sopes are different than the traditional ones I've had. People just need to open their minds a little and try different things. And Dos Taquitos needs to embrace their variety a little more.

Bad Food, nothing special. I went with my wife to DT expecting real mexican cousin, but we found a better served taco bell kind food, poor quality, small amounts, bad taste, NOT MEXICAN, real enchiladas are VERY different. Never visit again

Great Food, Great Margarita's. We went to this restaurant and was completely blown away by it!!.. Once you step inside you forget you are in Raleigh, I dont know how they come up with the decor but it is very cool.. We did have to wait for our table but I guess that just shows how popular this place is.. We got our 'Gold' margaritas and sat outside and waited for them to call on us, we were given a toy instead of taking our name, just another unique and cool thing about this place..

Once we did get to our table, the server was very friendly, she told us about the menu and the special then gave us adequate time to relax.. I got the Steak Tacos which had been highly recommended to me by a friend, they were SO right!.. If you go you HAVE to get them!.. Have read some of the other comments, i agree it is not cheap but then again, if it was I very much doubt it would be anywhere nearly as good as it is..

Overall i would say you MUST go and check it out..

One of the best restaurants in Raleigh!!!. Of all of the Mexican restaurants in town, Dos Taquitos is certainly the finest. From the outside, the appearance can be deceiving. The restaurant is located in a rather bland, non-descript strip mall. However, once I stepped foot inside, it felt like I had been transported to Mexico. The atmosphere is simply amazing. The bric-a-brac that lines the walls is unique and fascinating. While the atmosphere is superb, the food is what made my visit truly worth while. I had the chilaquiles, and they were the best I’ve ever had. Spicy, flavorful, complex….and most of all filling. My dinner, punctuated with a few deliciously strong margaritas, was completed with a plate of bread pudding for desert (I cannot recall the name on the menu). It was amazing! The spectacular food, plus fast and friendly service, made Dos Taquitos a truly unique experience. I highly recommend it to anyone who enjoys Mexican food.

The worst: no value (small amounts of bad food). Wow!!! is this place over-rated!! It is a mystery to me why folks patronize this place, or, worse yet, to claim it is a good mex restaurant. First of all, it is mexican only by the names of food on their menu (enchilada; quesadilla, etc) and the chips and salsa, but the actual food is poorly prepared, small amounts of pseudo-mex food (bad rice; bad refried beans; mis-represented enchiladas...meaning that the components promised on the menu are not necessarily present, etc). And, ooweee! are the prices ever high for a so-called mex restaurant! 12 to 15 dollars for worse-than Taco Bell dinners. I think folks who return to Dos T. like all the schlock hanging on the walls (partitions), making them feel as though there are in Juarez or some Latin land. I base my remarks on many visits -- not visits by choice, but because of 'having to' meet for social/professional purposes....so I know what I am talking about. In conclusion: you will do much better for quality at Taco Bell, and, if you go to Dos T., prepare to get ripped off for high drink and dinner prices. Bad, bad, bad..all around.....the owners ought to be embarrassed to serve the meager, poor quality that they serve...EMBARRASED !!!! (and they're not even Mex -- they are Columbian)

Very poor service, very overpriced, nothing special. We had a party of around ten, got there around 7pm. They just kept bringing chips and asking for drink orders. Finally got to order about an hour later. The place was not all that crowded - Tuesday night. Food arrived about 50 minutes later. Several people at the table did not eat much of their meal and everyone had different things. A few had about 3-4 Margaritas and said they never tasted a drop of alcohol. Way, way, way overpriced. Would not return or recommend.

Cigarette butt in the chips.. We were looking forward to the good Mexican food, but couldn't continue eating after we found a cigarette butt in our basket of chips. We thought they were supposed to throw out the chips after each use at a table. I know that the food is supposed to be good , but we haven't been able to stomach the thought of going back
