Mall shoppers and weary travelers refuel at this food court mainstay for quick, affordable Italian cuisine..
In Short
Founded as an Italian grocery in 1959 Brooklyn, this family-owned chain has since morphed into the world's largest shopping mall-based eatery, with additional locations in airports, train stations and college campuses. On-the-go diners line up cafeteria style around exhibition kitchens to choose from ready-made, New York-style pizza slices, calzones, garlic knots and Neapolitan standards, such as lasagna, chicken parmigiana and baked ziti. Most locations offer communal seating in a casual, bus-your-own-table setting.
Great pizza, but very skimpy on the crust!.
I had always liked Sbarro's for lunch. Great big slices, excellent toppings. Mouth watering!
However, after ordering a large pizza for pick up last weekend I was deeply disappointed. As soon as I physically picked up the box I knew something was wrong. It was way too light for an 18" pizza.
Turns out that the wheat prices have gone up quite a bit and they've obviously started skimping on the dough.
The pizza tasted great but boy, was it less filling.
Please, Sbarro's, make it like you did before!
