What People Are Saying About Car Max Auto Superstore

In Short – Instead of pushing for commission, each salesperson makes the same amount of money, so the sticker price really is the sticker price. Each of the 300-400 SUVs, vans, light trucks and cars on site undergoes an extensive inspection (flood, frame, odometer checks included) and reconditioning before they are ready to sell. Plus, CarMax will make a cash offer on your vehicle that's good for a week, whether you buy from them or not.
Editor's Tips
- The Extras:

- Save Time:

Tried to pull a fast one me

Valued my car way under value because they said it had been in an accident and had frame damage despite clean car fax history. I took the car back to the dealer (made a trip to Charleston SC) and they couldn't find any damage. I just recently got rid of that car at a reputable Mazda dealer and they found no problems whatsoever, which leaves me to assume that CarFax really just wanted to rip me off. Don't trust em!
- Pros: None
- Cons: Just waiting to Rip you off
BEWARE....

Exercise plenty of caution if buying a car from Carmax in Raleigh. They don't give a hoot about you once you've driven the car off their lot, and will find every 'loophole' and excuse to not help you once you've inadvertently bought a car from them with issues that need to be addressed.
- Pros: plenty of cars in the lot
- Cons: rudeness, lack of caring in service dept
Worst Customer Service in Town!
by Keno at Citysearch
Carmax basically talks up a great sales pitch, but once you've bought a car from them, WATCH OUT! You're on your own, no more 'nice guy' act! Heaven forbid if you discover something wrong with the car and have to deal with their service department. They are obnoxious and condescending. The service managers don't even bother returning your calls, and if by chance you happen to catch them by phone (they are ALWAYS "in a meeting" and unavailable), they just continue the rudeness that seems to be the norm over there. They don't seem to give a hoot about customer satisfaction once you have bought the car. I will not be returning there, and neither will anyone I know. Unfortunately on this site a star is required, but in reality, I would rate them at ZERO STARS.
- Pros: NONE
- Cons: Customer Service is horrible! Lousy service dept.
