Very trustworthy. My 2004 Ford Taurus recently developed serious engine problems. It wasn't worth much, so I wanted to fix the problem without investing a fortune. I called the Engine Store and talked to Rusty. He was able to give me a firm quote over the phone for a used or rebuilt engine. The used engine was substantially cheaper with a 12 month warranty, so I decided to have them install a used engine with 45K miles on it. The job took a litte over a week. I inspected the work, and it was very neat and nicely done. I have driven it on a long trip and around town for a couple of weeks, and the car runs great. At the Engine Store you will get very friendly, professional service, and will get a great product. I highly recomment their service without any reservations.
Excellent Repair Experience. My son blew the engine on his Hyundai Elantra. He ran it after all the water leaked from the radiator. I had it towed to the Engine Store for a rebuilt engine. Rusty at the Engine Store got the VIN number and started the process of getting the engine before the car was even towed to his place. It was a Monday and he promised the work would be completed by Saturday. While the repair was going on he found a few parts (in addition to the radiator) that needed to be replaced because they melted from the heat. Rusty was very good about calling and keeping us informed on what was needed and the progress. We were only charged the cost of the parts, no labor, because they would have been removed to install the engine anyway. He called us on Friday to let us know the work was done, a day earlier then estimated. The charges were exactly what was estimated for the engine replacement plus the few additional parts. No extra labor. We were very pleased to get the car back early and so far 3 weeks out its been running with no problems. A very professional company to do business with.
No complaints here.
I contacted the owner (Rusty) concerning an engine replacement in a Mecury Sable, however I told him I was not sure if I could make it to his shop. He offered to pay have the towing charge if I got stuck. The good news is I did not get stuck.
I dropped the car off on Saturday afternoon and Rusty said he would evalute the engine and get back to me on Monday. Late Monday Rusty contacted me and said he had not finished his evaluation and wanted to check a few more things before making his recommendation.
First thing Tuesday morning Rusty gave me a call and explained in detail of what was wrong and the reasons he was recommending replacing verses rebuilding. He also went over what would be covered in the price and what we be reused. I found him very honest and forthcoming with his comments.
Rusty explained that he felt he could had the replacment installed and tested by late Friday. During the next two days he followed up and explanined where he was and if he could still meet the Friday date. On Friday morning he contacted me and said that the radiator was blocked and was causing overheating. Based on the facf that there was little heat when we dropped it off, it made sense. He gave me a price on the radiator ( very reasonalbe) and installed it for free.
Bottom line. I was very satisfied with the level of professionalism and the overall manner that I was kept informed throughout the process. In addition, I was very surprised when I answer the phone the following day and heard Rusty voice making a followup call.. Sorry, but that is not something you hear about this days. That pushed my rating to exceeds expectations.
The quality appears fine, however if something happens to change my opinion, then be assured it will be posted. However at this point and time I'm a very satisfied customer and would recommend Rusty and his team in a heart beat....
Decent work but poor customer service..
Took my vehicle to The Engine Store for an engine replacement. Was told by Rusty on a Friday that the project would take 4 days. This far exceeded my expectation but accepted them for their word. The car wasn't delivered for 3 weeks.
Along the way I was always responsible for checking on the status of the work. I was never contacted by Rusty regarding progress or a revised delivery date. I was repeatedly told "your car will be ready tomorrow" and it was not.
I understand the effort involved in an engine replacement but they failed grossly in their responsibility to give me an accurate estimate and to keep me apprised. So far I have been satisfied with the work but would prefer the same outcome from a business that is more sensitive to deadlines and transparency.
