*MAJOR* UNNECESSARY REPAIRS. These people may have been honest in the past, but things seem to have really changed. I took two different cars in in the past 6 months. On the newer (48k miles), recently acquired vehicle I was told that, among other things, I needed ***$1600*** of front end suspension work. Because this was so much money, especially for this vehicle, I consulted others: a dealer, a tire shop, my engineer and car-tinkering neighbor, and another very positively reviewed mechanic. ALL FOUR INDEPENDENT SOURCES WERE UNANIMOUS IN SAYING NOTHING WAS WRONG WITH THE CAR!!

For the second car, much older, I was told the rear main seal was leaking and would need to be replaced - for $700-800. The above highly regarded mechanic said instead THERE WAS ABSOLUTELY NO SIGN OF ANY LEAD. Furthermore, he described the radiator "Quality Plus" had just replaced as just about the cheapest available, only one step above "salvage." PLUS it hadn't been installed properly.

So, I could've spent $2400 for no reason. WATCH OUT!!

Honest, Do Good Work. Took my car to have a wheel bearing replaced. They quoted me up front what it would cost and included a worst case scenario cost for having the hub replaced (should the bearing have become welded to the hub). Brought my car in, it was fixed as promised, cost was very reasonable - about 250 total parts/labor. What I really like is there were no surprises. I didn't need to suddenly have new brakes, or have fuel injector cleaners, or have the transmission serviced. In addition, they used floor mats and kept everything tidy. Will go back there in the future for repairs I can't do myself.
