In Short – Disco Rodeo is the freshly named version of the Ritz--a staple of Raleigh's live music scene. The club has not only been renamed, but redecorated as well. The renovated interior features a brand-new dance floor, as well as rows of disco lights. The venue plans to carry on the musical traditions long established in this big, open place--namely to offer the best local and national touring bands.

Great place! ( if ur hispanic )

by LgE1207

I go to Disco Rodeo (DR for short) every saturday night. I really enjoy it there because as a mexican i think its great we have a club to our own where they play OUR kind of music! Not only what we hear on every radio station. I would recomend ANY hispanic to go... but if your not hispanic.. hey we DONT discriminate! =) Just try to be a lil open minded about our music the way we are with yourz!

  • Pros: Great place to just go dancing and chillin with friends
  • Cons: the price on beer

It's pretty much a Latino Venue

by Mark5v9

I have gone to Disco Rodeo many many times in the past, especially when Cat's Cradle did the booking. Once they changed the name to Disco Rodeo, I've been twice. Judging by the "remodelling," I would think it's primarily just Latino music that now the staple. For my kind of music (alt, punk, metal, rock, various 'core, etc), I now mostly go to the Lincoln Theatre.

  • Pros: No "dead spots" in audience
  • Cons: Limited music styles

Probably the worst venue i've been to

by Lutea

Unlikely I'll ever go back there again. The heat was almost unbearable due to a lack of adequate ventilation. The acoustics and PA were so bad you couldn't even understand just one person simply talking at the microphone. Also tough to find a place to park where you can be sure you won't be towed. On the plus side, the security folks were polite and the crowd was great even though they were melting.

  • Pros: staff and crowd
  • Cons: ventilation, acoustics, parking
