Ruined comforter then refused to take responsibility.
On 09/22/11 I dropped off a comforter to Jin's Cleaners on Falls of the Neuse Rd. to be dry cleaned per the instructions on the label. The comforter was purchased from Urban Outfitters for $115.
When I went 3 days later to pick it up, it was neatly packed in a plastic zipper bag and I was charged $30 (which I paid) for the dry cleaning service. When I arrived home and took it out of the bag I saw that the filling/down between the 2 pieces of fabric was stuck together in balls and the comforter now resembled no more than a sheet.
I went back to Jin's Cleaners the same day and showed the clerk that the comforter was ruined. She gave me the business card of the owner David Kim. When I spoke to Mr. Kim I explained that not only had they ruined my comforter but they packaged it and charged me for it knowing it was ruined.
He accepted no responsiblility and even insulted me by saying that the comforter was poor quality and put blame on the manufacturer. I explained that I had a similar comforter from the same store that dry cleaned just fine. Not only did he refuse to pay for the comforter but he also refused to refund the $30 I paid for the "dry cleaning" claiming they had performed a service. He never even said he was sorry. I find this type of behavior deceitful, unethical, and just wrong. I have also filed a complaint with the BBB. We should not support businesses who try to rip off the public.
