Rowdy, loud, medicore food. Last night we had the misfortune to eat at Bahama Breeze in Northeast Raleigh. The 2 armed police officers at the front door should have served as a warning to us as to what type of establishment this is but we naively went in anyway. The atmosphere was more low-end nightclub than restaurant. Many of the patrons were rowdy and loud. After a long wait to be seated, it then took over 1 hour to get our food after we ordered. Food was mediocre at best. Restroom was one of the filthiest I have ever seen.

Good Place to hang out!!!. I like this place, Good ambience. Good Service. Good music. Coconut shrimp tastes good. We were attended by 'Travis' he was very courteous and made sure we are comfortable with the food. We will definitely go there again.

Good place for drinks and snacks. The food here may not be anything close to authentic, but it's good! We had the jamaican wings, portabello sandwich, the house salad and were impressed with all items.

Service was very friendly and fun, the atmosphere out on the patio is fantastic. Why didn't we come here sooner?

Just below average. I have been here for lunch with coworkers and dinner for family. Each time the service was slow, the price was a little high for what you get. The food itself can be delicious, but the atmosphere is loud and again, slow. The servers all seem to be on the verge of frantic, dropping off food and leaving right away. The only waiting space is right in front of the door, leading to a big crowd milling around in a small area. The drinks are imaginative, if unevenly poured.

Have to try at least once. I loved this place!! The food still makes my mouth water and the crowd was family oriented and for those looking to go have drinks with friends, I even noticed a lot of cute guys around! The parking was great and the service was fabulous...I love west indian food, and this definitely puts a twist on it. They close the doors and 11pm and I wish they would stay open a little longer, but other than this I have no complaints. One of the best places Ive been to since I moved to Raleigh a year ago.

Excellent food! Excellent service!!!. My wife and I stopped in to try something new. We were astonished at the service. Never did my drink get empty, our food arrived very quickly, and Renee, our server always had a smile on her face. We will most definately be making a return trip this place. The food was very flavorful and a delight to see as well as eat with the chefs artful presentation of the food. A must try if you haven't already!!

Sanitation concerns. I made my first trip to Bahama Breeze tonight, and my entire party was shocked at how poorly the main outdoor bar area out front is designed. There is a small drink-garnishing station on the outside of the bar where waiters and waitresses can take drinks from the bartender, add fruit, and then take the drink to whoever ordered it. The problem with this setup is that the fruit bar is out in the open, right along a main corridor for customer traffic, and there is nothing to stop anyone from reaching over and grabbing a handful of fruit to munch on as they pass by.

My friends and I witnessed a couple of children walking up to the fruit and digging into it with their bare hands. After this they went inside to use the restrooms, and on their way back to their seats they grabbed more fruit from the bar. During this time period we also saw several waitresses who were oblivious to the kids' activities using fruit from the bar to garnish their customers' drinks. Yuck.

A friend of mine reported what we had seen to a server, but nothing was done about it. I then proceeded to go outside and tell the bartender what was going on, but again, no action was taken. We finally asked our waitress to call over the manager, and when she arrived, we made her aware of the situation.

The manager said that the design of the bar had been changed during their latest remodeling, and she went outside to talk things over with the bartender. The funny thing is that while she and the bartender were standing there, one of the same kids as before had the nerve to walk right up to the bar and start picking at the fruit. She asked him to stop and step away from the bar, and she then proceeded to guard the area for a short while.

After about 15 minutes or so, someone finally brought out a fresh batch of fruit, but this of course is not a long-term solution to the problem at hand. How the health inspector approved their current setup is beyond me. Order a drink at your own risk!
