Good Service Beats Small Issues. We just got back from Lone Star, and had excellent service. Helpful and friendly, she paid attention to our kids, and accomodated our requests (extra napkins, butter....). The food did take a while to get to the table, except for the kids's order, which came out quickly. It is loud, but that's ok if your kids start getting rambunctious. It's about the only steakhouse in town that cooks a medium to medium, rather than medium rare.

(And we don't know what's up with the so-called "Texas Rice," but that's the chain's issue, not the individual restaurant's.)

The worst experience ever!. We have always enjoyed Lonestar. Our experience last night was the absolute worst experience we've ever had! We were seated and sat there for 10 minutes without anyone even looking at us. I guess we became invisible. Then, we finally got a server. We gave her our entire order up front. It took another 5 min. to get our drinks. We had to ask for bread. Our appetizer took another 10 minutes to arrive. I believe our salads were shipped in. They took another 10 min. In between, our server just disappeared. Our food main course was sent to the wrong table. So it went back to the kitchen and sat there for another 5 min. The only reason we stayed was we were so hungry! We will never go to this restaurant again! It wasn't just us either! Every table in there was going through the same thing.

Great Steakhouse Chain. We had never been to any LoneStar before and was really surprised at the quality of food, value, and overall service friendliness. While waiting for a table we had some wonderful margaritas and frozen cocktails at the bar. The two bartenders entertained us with some history on how long the restaurant had been there and some of the better entrees to get. Even though they were busy they still had the time to chat with us and make us feel at home. We ordered some filet mignons with mesquite grilled shrimp added. The steaks were very tender and flavored just right. The server was extremely friendly but not bothersome. The meal with drinks was very moderately priced since it was a chain. The price of a steakhouse chain but the ambiance, friendliness, and feel of a private restaurant. We will be back.
