Great Pizza HORRIBLE STAFF. This is a great pizza place, but most every time I call to order and go in to pick up my pizza....everybody is TOO COOL FOR SCHOOL....pretty rude. I get the "alternative" atmosphere, but c'mon - treat your customers with respect, after all, if we weren't coming in and spending money - you certainly wouldn't be there!!
Fantastic Pizza!.
This is a different pizza place, i give you that. Pizza is my comfort food & i always like to try different places to see what is good. I saw this small place driving by and did a 180*.
I thought this might be interesting - and it was! Its got its own style of decor, they were playing some type of modern new age type music but i wound up tapping my foot to it - especially as I dove into the heavily loaded PIZZA! A few bites into it & I knew I had found a new Pizza place. Sure there might have been a couple of young adults bopping to some new age music(maybe it was Indy music)- they liked it so -so what. This place has a nice vibe with an off beat decor. I had a 2 slice lunch special ,2 toppings at noon and about 1.5 hrs later I was couch bound and fell into the lume of a rainy day nap. I was still full at 6 o clock in the eve. So I'm trying to say you definitely get your $$s worth on the pizza and very generous portions. They use very fresh and quality organic ingredients and their tomato sauce was really awesome & homemade. The crust was great & unique & on its own.
I thought they deserve a 5 star review in an economy where most places are cutting back on toppings and portion size and slipping in lower grade ingredients- no not here, its the real thing . I always wanted one of those loaded Boston style pizzas & that's where I felt like I was when eating there at Lilly's Pizza! Every pizza lover should try them out at least once & see if its for you. And so what if there is a hippie or 2 there working(& dancing a bit in the back.[ another review poster pointed out])- so what... I think they and that Indie music & the abstract art and a drop of Adams Family decor/old early 1900s Raleigh & touch of still art looking decor accessories made the whole experience very cool for me!
Congrats Lilly's You've got a good thing going! Just don't go the way most of your competitors during this down economic period, cutting back on quality and portions. Don't change the music & don't get a hair cut And NEVER stop dancing in the kitchen either! Don't change the planet your on or came from- we already have too many drab self centered humanoids here on this Earth that cant go for something different or appreciate or understand someone elses Art. well there's my 2 cents worth!
GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!.
GLUTEN FREE PIZZA!
We absolutely love this place and always make it a point to stop by whenever we are in Raleigh.
The first time my girlfriend had the Gluten Free Pizza, she cried! She said it is the best pizza she had ever eaten, and even though I can eat gluten, I'd easily put it in my top 10 all time pizzas too!
SO Good. It's worth everything you've heard. The pizza was so delicious, and I've not had a pizza from there I didn't enjoy. I love going in there. You can occasionally find coupons in some of the circulators that go around NC State if you need a reason to try it. But believe me, it's worth the full price. It is a cute little store on top of being awesome. I wish that I could eat Lilly's Pizza exclusively for the rest of my life, and that would just make everything alright.
good luck with this feeble excuse for a restaurant. Dope head employees stand around jamming to horrible music. You might eventually get whatever they decided to throw in the oven. Maybe not. Tonight was my last attempt to eat at Lilly's. They could give away p**sy with the pies and I wouldn't bother. Don't waste your time on this place. They suck.
NEVER GO HERE IF YOU EXPECT CUSTOMER SERVICE. The have no respect for the customer. They are a bunch of dope heads just getting by with no idea of how to treat a customer. Much better pizza places throughout the Triangle than this one. Try The Point in Five Points!
Food still good. don't get here much anymore, but got a chance this week and the pizza was DAMN GOOD!
Best Pizza in Raleigh Period. Best Pizza I have had in Raleigh. Very reasonably priced. The crust is just awesome. It can be loud and hard to find a seat, but I usually just go sit outside or take the pizza home if I go during the restaurants peak times.
BEST PIZZA & SALADS IN RALEIGH. Just wanted to update my review. Went there yesterday and it's still as amazing as ever!! You might overlook Lilly's--yeah it's a little sketchy with the waiting in an oftentimes to the door line, seating yourself, and having your name yelled out a million times, but trust me, you will NOT be disappointed. You can't go wrong with any of the Lilly's pies. Don't be lame and order just a cheese or pepperoni slice, go out on a limb--you won't regret it. Five Points, Buddha, Green Jeans are all highly recommended. The salads are to die for as well, particularly the Roasted Veggie Salad--it takes a while, but it's totally worth the wait! Pita points appetizer is super dank as well. All in all you can't go wrong at Lilly's.
Best Pizza in Raleigh/Durham Area!. It is quite a unique atmosphere! There are pictures from local artists hanging on the walls as well as various intriguing sculptures and items adorning the joint. Lilly's has a very chill ''hippy'' atmosphere although you see all walks of life dining there. It is refreshing to see the State students sitting amongst the "white collar" business men and the middle class families. The reasonably priced pizza is the best that can be found in Raleigh/Durham! A very inviting atmosphere that is a welcome "breath of fresh air" from the high-end restaurants that can also be found in this area. A place that every local loves and every out-of-towner should visit at least once!
