Beautiful Lunch. Nice atmosphere with a beautiful view of the museum's back lawn. Professional service, entrees are not over sized and are reasonably priced. I believe the menu changes seasonally but I had a chili glazed fish that was phenomenal. Desserts are a feast for the eyes as well as the stomach.

My favorite place in Raleigh for a special occasion brunch. This is where we go for celebratory brunches, twice a year or so. The menu changes seasonally so there's something new to try every time. The food is fresh and well prepared, the setting is casual, the service is friendly and efficient. It's a little on the pricey side but it is tax free, the profit goes right back into the museum and it's worth every penny. We especially love the bread basket with one sweet and one savory, the mimosas and bloody marys, and the omelets; which are GIMORMOUS and we can easily make two full meals out of.

Delicious food, good service, comfortable atmosphere. This year was the second year we've gone to the Blue Ridge Cafe for Easter Brunch. Both years the food has been incredible. I had the Oak City Benedict and it was amazing. We all tried each other's dishes and my mother's Sea Bass and my father's shrimp and grits were also delicious (and I don't even like grits). The presentation is as nice as the flavor. My husband is a picky eater and was able to get a fantastic burger with bacon and gruyere cheese, and my five year old was able to have chicken fingers and french fries. We also sampled a few desserts between us...We tried the orange cardamom creme brulee, plum crisp and berry sorbet. All were as delicious as the main course. Our waitress was very polite and efficient with the exception of a bit of slowdown getting drink refills and our check at the end. Overall a VERY good experience.

Great food surrounded by great art!. Can't beat the service at the Blue Ridge Cafe in the Art Museum ... and the service and yummies really made for a great experience. I met a colleague at the BRC for lunch and we both enjoyed the tasty salads (I'd highly recommend the the salmon salad!) ... The room is open and enegentic without lots of ambient noise, so perfect for a small lunch meeting. I'll head back soon -- but this time, I'll give myself more time for the art ... nothing like the perfect mashup of food and culture!

Although this restaurant is part of the North Carolina Museum of Art, the food is worth a visit on its own.. In Short
Situated on the lower level at the North Carolina Museum of Art, the Blue Ridge Cafe serves surprisingly good meals to guests, most of whom are finishing up a tour of the musem. The enormous restaurant doubles as a banquet hall, complete with wallpaper reminiscent of the '80s, industrial chairs and a well-worn piano. The floor-to-ceiling windows face the expansive park-like grounds. The menu sometimes changes with the exhibits, but it always features eclectic dishes with a Southern flavor. You'll always find a perfectly cooked burger on the menu, and inventive salads are a good choice. The restaurant has its own pastry chef whose creations are as delectable visually as they are gastronomically. Creme brulee infused with thyme contrasts a solid sugar crust and honeycomb topping with a savory thyme custard. Buckwheat crepes with frozen pistachio mousse come topped with crispy pistachio toffee and candied apples.

A feast for all the senses. What can I say? The food is wonderful. Lunch is really a pleasure in a relaxed environment. The selections are diverse enough to please anyone, but be sure to leave room for dessert. It is definitely the ultimate end to a great meal - as pleasing to the eye as it is to the palate. A do not miss for friends who want to go to lunch or brunch.

A Pleasant Surprise!!!. Lunch at the museum this past Thursday was an absolute delight! We were made to feel very special by everyone we encountered, and our luncheon salads were both delicious AND a work of art ---After viewing the Sultan's exhibit in the adjacent gallery, my friend and I felt we had been on a short trip to an exotic, enjoyable locale. It was a balm for the soul.
