In Short – Imagine a fraternity house complete with the sagging sofas and lingering odor of beer. Install a bare-bones bar, make sure the wood floors are nicely scarred and that the air-conditioning is broken. Forget about decoration. Who needs art when you've got beer? Go for the cheap bottomless cup--plastic, of course--or an inexpensive monster draft. For a change of pace get jiggy with some Jell-O shooters or an ultra-affordable Cape Cod.

The doormen are rude, condescending & have no problem discriminating against people for no reason.

Know Before You Go:
This crowd, namely NC State and Meredith students, doesn't come here for the cuisine. They don't come here for the conversation or to sip Chardonnay or to impress a first date. And when Mom and Dad come for a weekend visit, the Cantina is likely not part of the Hillsborough Street tour.
