Great place for beginners!

by tankedup

I am pretty new to saltwater aquariums so I have lots of questions. These folks are always willing to spend some time with me and help out. They usually have what I need or can get it in a couple of days. I would love to see some more corals in house for purchase!!

Don't waste your time.

First off the Etta Burke Ct address is incorrect and from my experience doesn't exist at all. Once I did get the correct address the place was still a pain to find. It is located in a little hole in the wall plaza between the fork of two very busy one-ways streets that is surrounded by trees. If you do plan on going there I'd recommend not doing so between 4-6PM on a weekday.

When I first entered the store I noticed that it smelled more like dead fish than live fish but thankfully I was not there for the fish. I was looking to buy some black foam sealant for the waterfall of my fish pond and had called ahead of time to confirm the carried it. Much to my disappointment and after the adventure of finding the place to begin with the only foam they carried was some brand that I had not seen in any of my online searches for the product and came in 20oz cans for $43 a piece! Knowing that I could get at least three 12oz cans of higher quality foam for that price from online retailers I opted to fore go the instant gratification of purchasing it there.

Pros: Did appear to have a large selection of fish, although the condition is probably questionable. I guess if you prefer the small business mom and pop fish store over a Petsmart or the like then this is the place for you.

Cons: Terrible location, I'd assume the other specialty items they carried were way overpriced and anything else I'm sure you could simply find at a Petsmart.
