In Short – Baja is a college-town hangout (NCSU) through and through. Place your order, then grab a stool and take in the basketball game while you wait--the tube is centrally located. California-style Mexican via a streamlined menu. Tacos, burritos, nachos and salads share similar fillings and are fresh, light on oil and low on salt. The burrito is king here: filled to capacity with rice, beans, cheese, pico, guacamole and your choice of chicken or steak.

Awesome burritos

by redhead85

This place is definitely not one where you go if you want great ambiance, but if you want fresh, hot, great tasting food, go to Baja Burrito. The burritos are huge, and come with tortilla chips on the side. I usually use the enormous amount of filling in my burrito to dip my chips into, but you can pay extra for fresh salsa (not the cooked kind you're used to buying from the grocery store). The quesadillas are really good too, but I usually stick with the burrito. All the employees are really friendly, and accommodate for your taste. You can even get a wheat tortilla or brown rice instead of white. Keep in mind, this is a "fresh" tasting burrito, not the sink to the bottom of your stomach kind you get at Taco Bell, so if that's what you're into, you might not like it.

  • Pros: Local artists paintings on the walls, good food, great price, large portions, college hangout
  • Cons: Sweet tea (doesn't taste like the "southern" kind we like around here)

HUGEly Fantastic

by kenyonk

OK, so it has absolutely NO atmosphere, but who needs atmosphere when they're totally focused on devouring an enormous and incredibly tastey burrito. I had the pork verde burrito deluxe (includes sour cream and guacamole) and I was in HOG HEAVEN! And it was a great value, too.

If you're looking for fine dining, go elsewhere. If you want some really good food at a good price and you want it fast................head to Baja Burrito in Mission Valley. You will be VERY happy.

  • Pros: Huge portions, great prices, excellent food
  • Cons: None....................unless you're a snob. It's not a high-end eatery.

Kicks Moe's Butt!

by nickiness

My boyfriend and I were in the mood for something spicy, something Mexicanish, but something different. After much debating we found Baja Burrito on Citysearch and decided to give it a try. Definitely a chance worth taking! It?s more Mex than Tex and very similar to Moe?s but MUCH, MUCH better! The food was delicious and did not that have fast food feel like Moe?s does and the service was great. Check it out if you like Moe?s but are just tired of that boring, processed taste.

  • Pros: Great Burritos, Homemade Taste
  • Cons: Small Dining Area
