Cary >Guarino's Italian Restaurant
Great hole-in-the-wall restaurant however it's no longer in business and closed some time ago.
It was much better than the chain restaurants in the area.
As usual, a great experience. Third time visit. Always good food, nice people, fast service and reasonable prices. Never disappointed.
Hard to find but terrific. This is a classic Italian restaurant that provides real Italian food made, strangely enough, by real Italians. No tenors, no new american-italian cuisine just plain good food.
There's the Bestest, then the Restest. The first time I've eaten here was in 1996. I live over 100 miles from Raleigh, but yet I still come here to eat. Why? Because it's closer than driving to New Jersey to eat good Italian food. There's no "theme" they are trying to do here. They are being theirselves, which makes it good. You can't tell someone how to act NewJersey Italian. It just happens. Food is teriffic, and the prices are cheaper than the NewJersey tolls to get you to a place up north.
Cary Gem. This family-owned restaurant feels more like a hole-in-the-wall Italian place you'd find up north than something in Cary. The lovely pasta with marinara makes for a nice low-key meal. The soup is always homemade. And the service is fantastic.
