Check this place out!.
The food is great! They cook it to order. Never sitting under a heat lamp. The burgers are quality beef -even the cheeseburgers taste good. The shakes are thick and you don't have to worry about having just milk when you get home with it. The employees are not just working there- they have a personality unlike other places I been to. I give it a 10 + See you at Chargrill on Atlantic

Looking for greasy food? This is your place..
Many cities have a place like this: a food establishment than won't win an award for decor but the food is inexpensive and delicious. For Raleigh, it's Char Grill. I had their burger and fries and both were great and at a good price. It's interesting to order by filling out a card, but that's how they do it. If you are watching your weight, avoid this place (even though they do sell a salad), but for everybody else, it's a great place, and had a sanitation score of 99.5. As someone who likes supporting local businesses, I was upset seeing a lot more people at Sonic across the street on a Saturday night.

Find the classic all-American burger in an even more classic setting--the drive-in..
In Short
Ah, Char-Grill, where burgers, dogs, fries, creamy shakes, and deep-fried apple turnovers are prepared behind thick glass walls. Where patrons scribble out their orders on pads of paper and slide them through slits to the cooks slaving away behind the aforementioned glass shield. Char-Grill is a Raleigh original, a holdover from the glory days of drive-ins: no trip to the Oak City is complete without a visit. This location is a popular lunch spot for Staties and downtown workers.
