Awful food awful service!!!!!. Had lunch by myself. got fish sandwich. Wet greasy fries. Fish tasted like mothballs. Trashy waitress. Nasty. place very, very dirty. They found the mexican kitchen staff at day labor. Do Not eat there For Any Reason!!! The Mayfower in Durham is supurb as well as the one in Hillsbourough. Last two times I ate ther were bad too, but not this bad. AVOID!!!
Mayflower food is not what it use to be. I took my children to Mayflower on Capital. This was the worst food ever. The salad was warm, the fried food taste like grease was applied after cooking it, the grilled chicken was over cooked and very dry, the cheese sticks were very hard and over cooked. The cooking staff spend more time smoking cigerettes then watching how the food was prepared. I should have known there was a problem after watching several tables return their plates full of food. Myself like them I could not eat this mess. Thank God I had some tums in my purse...
Not impressive. The service was great and everyone was very friendly. The fish was over cooked and very dry and hard. The shrimp scampi was tasty and cooked well.
Great popcorn shrimp!. I have visited the Garner Mayflower restaurant several times in the past year or so. The food is always great and you get a lot of food. Being a southern girl, when eating there, I always choose fried seafood. Their slaw isn't great, but who cares? Last week we had a waiter, not a waitress, and he was very good. The previous visits we had a waitress, who although very nice, was a little slow. So, if you like southern fried seafood and plenty of it, give Mayflower in Garner a try.
Going downhill. Have been a customer 15 yrs on regular basis. About 6 mos before the Garner location opened (about year and a half ago) quality has steadily declined. Dined there (Capital Blvd) for the last time over this past weekend. They served milk out of date--and they knew it. Restaurant was unclean (tables & high chair), chicken tenders were cooked in same oil as seafood giving that fishy-chicken taste. Tea was off, but not too bad. Baked potatoes were served warm, but we were there fairly early in the day so we wondered had they been kept over from the previous day. Snippy cash register person too. The Garner location is still very good and well-managed (as of three weeks ago), but we will not be dining at the Capital Blvd location ever again.
the service was horible. We were seated right away in Garner but waited over 15 minutes to be waited on. When we spoke to the mgr he said he was aware of the problem and walked away. the seafood was over cooked and way too greasy. I will not go back. go to Captian Stanleys instead, Its cheeper and food is better.
best take out service, great customer service. We call in an order once a week and are always pleased with the selection and service. They are efficient and friendly. The food is always cooked to perfection and it's always service with a smile.
Best Oysters. We went there for steamed oysters and broiled scallops. A whole peck was 20 bucks. A pretty good deal. The oysters were huge and really fresh. They were GREAT!. Our waitress, Amy, was really nice and gave us wonderful service. I highly recommend this place.
Horrible Customer Service with take out orders. The Service in Raleigh and Garner is horrible. The food is going down and I am waiting for them to go out of business. If you want good seafood with customer service, avoid this place. I had been going for years but the last two visits were horrible, service and food. After years of patronage, we will NEVER eat at any Mayflower again and I will pass that along to all I know.
They don't know how to cook fish. I agree with other reviewer that fish was overcooked. Broiled flounder was bland and rubbery. Fried croaker was so overcooked that bones would not separate from meat. Popcorn shrimp can be found cheaper and better from Sams club. Cole Slaw is better at KFC. There was nothing nice to say about our dining experience.
