Omg. Nasty! Filthy! Nothing less than a stick of dynamite could improve this place. If you like your waitress smelling like an ashtray every time she approached the table..........then I say Bon appetite. Please do us all a favor and close your doors!!!!
Not that great. 1-1.5 stars really. This is a dumpy old place that I felt I needed to try in order to support a local, non-chain restaurant. The food we ordered was mediocre, on par with cafeteria food. Low-class atmosphere. If you really have a craving for moderately priced seafood and can't find a Long John's Seafood, this is it.
Do NOT eat here. My husband put in an order for pick up at 8:45pm and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. He showed up at 9pm and the servers and cooks were walking out. He was told that they hadn't put his order through because they "cook everything fresh" DESPITE the fact they had told him it would take 15 mins for his order to be ready. The manager offered 0 resolution for the problem, saying "that's why it takes 2 mins for your order to be ready...we cook it fresh." REALLY? Because you told us it would take 15 mins to be ready. Nevertheless besides this confounding idiotic logic, the rating was a 90% and he said it smelled horrible. I suppose they apply the same "logic" of "cooking fresh" in 2 mins...even though they say 15 mins....to their expiration dates and their promptness and urgency to keeping their establishment clean.
Nasty!!!!. This was the worst Maylower I have ever been in and I don't plan on going back. We were seated by a fish take that had dead fish in it. The water was so dirty you could not see through it and it was GREEN!!!!!! There was food on the floor that stayed there the whole time we were there and they were not to busy to clean it up. Our server was fine and so was the food. I called back to get the owners name and to try and talk with him. The employee's could not spell his last name and did not know when he would be back. I was told I could send a letter to the restaurant and just address it to "Pete" and he would get it. Will never go back again!!!!
quality is going down. Just got some scallops today and they started using reformed scallop parts now, kinda like McDonalds does with chicken nuggets. They didn't taste as good and while I would expect this quality of food from McDonalds, I didn't expect it from Mayflower.
Nasty and Rude. The staff was very rude. The entire place was very dirty. The restrooms smelled like a cow pasture. If you would really like to eat at a clean Mayflower you need to try the one in Wilson. You will not be disappointed. I don"t know what the management at the raleigh Mayflower is thinking.
So much food!. I've eaten in here and taken out from here. Eating in is the best option...plates are piled high and everything is very fresh--you can just taste it. The To Go counter is just a pain...it's slow and everybody over there is rude.
Worst Take-Out Service. First time visit to Mayflower, I had heard good things,so we all decided to order for lunch, and eat at work. We called ahead of time, went over the order with the woman taking orders, everything seemed right. All of the orders were wrong, we ordered rice pilaf for one of the orders, it was forgotton. They forgot to give everyone coleslaw, (8) orders, they also over charged for what was supposed to be lunch specials. When we called the manager, she was very unapologetic, even after hearing we spent almost 100 dollars on take out. We ended finding out the General Managers phone number, called him, and now we are waiting for his return phone call. They also gave a problem to 2 ppl who went to return their "dinners" saying that they couldn't give cash refunds. A little strong arm and they got their money back. I would not recommend this restaurant unless eating in, where you can get your food corrected.
Best seafood in Raleigh. the broiled seafood was great. And oh -the waitress was so good-she provided us with plenty of iced tea-extra napkins-extra plates and a nice conversation. We will be there every Saturday night !!!! The price was very reasonable!!!!!
