Need a Mechanic with Skill AND Integrity? This is the Place!.
I came to AAMCO on Capital Blvd. in hopes of fixing my Jeep Wrangler's severe engine skipping problem. I had been to another auto repair shop in Youngsville, and wound up paying a lot of $ (1,100) for a ruined catalytic converter that may have been necessary but didn't fix the underlying issue. Matt at Aamco let me know that if I had not brought the Jeep right in, chances were I'd have to buy another converter. Matt was aware of my problems and issues with the other mechanic. Despite a shop that was PACKED with customers (that says it all) they were able to fix my Jeep in a few days. Matt knocked off a significant amount from the bill because he knew my husband and I were tapped out paying for the first fix. I won't go anywhere else and I'll recommend this particular shop to anyone who needs a good mechanic. The thing with cars is - you never really know what you are getting - and don't get me wrong, some of the blame is mine. I didn't research the original shop and didn't know anything about auto repairs. Aamco did a diagnostic for free, showed us the result as he was testing it and carefully described the fix that would be necessary AND the price. If any repair went over $75 you were sure to get a call. Trust me it was standing room only - there were customers ALL OVER THE PLACE. I subjected myself to embarassment and disrespect on the road and drove a Kia Rio for three years in order to save to buy my Jeep, so you can bet I'm really, really happy and grateful to Aamco and Matt the mechanic.
Thi is where I will go from now on.
