Good Night's the worst club in Raleigh – Goodnight's should be named BAD NIGHT'S what a waist of time, this place is a dump. The staff is rude the owner is a jerk, they have these young want to be thugs, making crap for money so they think they can abuse the patrons this place is truly a rip off don't waste your time or money.goodnight's should be happy that anyone would want to enter that dump ,you suck in the highest order

stay as far away as possible – this ripoff "restaurant" is billed as a way to get good seats for the comedy shows. We ate there tonight in advance of Tracy Morgan. Our waiter told us we had front row seats so take our time eating. When we got downstairs we were at the back of the room, not at a table, four chairs squeezed in between other people. The food at the restaurant is just so sub par it could be called nasty. But the wait staff in the comedy club brings it down to a whole new level of mediocrity. Just stay home and rent comedy tapes. This place is a ripoff of the hightest order!

Don't waste your money – Dont EVEN waste your time or money at this dump! Eat before come--you can get better food from a local value menu. PLEASE BRING CASH! Use a credit card and watch your bill go up with chump charges! Don't ask or pay for prime seating. There is no prime seating! !!! They push and shove you into tight elbow-to ass seating. You can't move to the left or to the right becaue your wedged in like a can of cheap sardines. Don't even think about moving a chair or table even a hair becasue you get fussed out by the "super-sit-you-down man". Do yourself a favor and go out of town or watch your own t.v.

Never AGAIN! – had a terrrible experience here and will NEVER go again! I bought tickets online for Jennifer Coolidge for a Sunday eprformance. The comedian was great, but the staff was horrible! When we showed up for the dinner/show, they said they accidentally canceled our tickets. We were turned away from the dinner. They did said I had to purchase 2 more to more tickets then ( for more than the the dinner/show price), if I still wanted to go to the show. I bought 2 more tickets and they made us wait in the lobby until everyone else was sat. We were then placed at the back of the theater in a cramped area, where I was forced to stand the entore night. I spoke with the "manager" who said, sorry, this is all we have. I was also upset because I bought the tickets 4 weeks before the show, but they still made me wait until everyone else was sat. The staff was rude, pushy and even blamed ME for them canceling my original tickets by mistake! Be warned about this place. They are unorganized and don't care anything about repeat customers. All they care about it getting the money for the tickets. I will be sharing this experience with EVERYONE I can!

great show – My wife and I were looking for a really total experience to go out and eat good food and see Ralphie May. Our bill was not broken out and as we were in a hurry to get seats, I paid the bill. Imagine getting 4 drinks one appetizer and two low priced entree's and a bill of $75 before tip. As we were out for a special eve, I just paid and went on as we were with friends. The next day, I revisited our food and bill, and decided I needed to warn those of you looking for good food. I ordered the Cordon Bleu as I have enjoyed it elseware in the past. What I received was a burnt Sam's club frozen thing sliced into sections and covered with something to cover up the fact that the ham and cheese inside were burnt into the ozone. I ordered a salad and fries with it. Salad was on the dinner plate and fake blue chess dressing was such that I could not eat the salad. Wilted fries (less than McDonald) and that is my bottom line. If you can't beat McDonald;s just give up.But to put it into perspective, the fries were the only thing I ate. The calamari had no little squids and the concept of "not overcooking" was attempted, but when you don't overcook calamari, you need to use light batter and cook at very high temp (425+) to achieve the tenderness and color you are searching for. Bottom line--the food was sub-par. we will not go back again for dinner--perhaps drinks and appetizers--but not dinner The Old Bar needs to focus on quality food to draw people back for dinner and a how. We'll return, but nor for dinner--just the show.

Went to goodnights for new years eve,we opted to eat a sit down dinner,we were the last ones to be seated [we were there an hour before]they sat us at the opening to the kitchen,we were told they were behind,we placed our order[with the bar tender who was clearly too busy to give us good service, none the less we placed our order and did'nt even get what we ordered and were told "we are out of that"no body even told us we ordered the tuna they brought us salmon,I was real upset as I brought company from out of town to this venue, and I asked to speak with the manger, who was not helpfull at all, pretty much said we could leave[we paid $432 for the night of dinner and comedy.he then treatened me and said we would not get our tickets if we did'nt pay our bar bill,we gave up then were escorted to a table in the back,we were supposed to get preferred seating with our meal,we opted to leave and to never return again! It was a horrible experiance and I can see that others have also had a bad experiance,so don't waste your money on this poor poor managed place.I would'nt even give this one star but there is no other option.

Have a back up plan! – My husband and I recently planned our first trip to Charlie Goodnights Comedy Club. We planned to see John Caparulo on Sunday night. As soon as we heard John was coming (3 weeks in advance), we went on Goodnights website to buy tickets. We then decided that their "free show with dinner purchase" sounded like fun so instead we made reservations. I printed a confirmation number that assured not only the reservation for dinner, but also that tickets to the show would be held for us as well.

Sunday came around and my husband and I were very excited about going to see the show (which also happened to be our celebration for my birthday). I called the box office to ask a question about the dinner seating but a recording said the box office would not open until 4pm. I looked at the website again and noticed that John Caparulo's name was no longer on the calendar for that date (in fact, the whole weekend), instead there was another comedian listed. I waited until 4pm (4 hours before the show) and called the box office. I spoke with a man and told him I was going to see John Caparulo that night. He asked for all of my information and then answered the question I called to ask about dinner. After the details of dinner were discussed, he said -somewhat as an afterthought- that John was not going to be performing that night.

He then explained that John had a change in schedule due to shooting a movie and that they had only found out on Wednesday. I informed the man that it was Sunday and I had not received ANY kind of notification that this had taken place. The information I had given them with my dinner reservation included my name/address/phone/email. The man said they had scrambled around to find a replacement and that they had been very busy trying to contact people but there was still "a small list" of people they had yet to notify.

The man pretty much assumed we would see the replacement comedian and was trying to tell me about him. I told him that I had no idea who this other guy was and that I still could not understand why I had not been notified. If there was time to put this new comedian's name on the online calendar, why was there nothing on the website explaining the situation? The man I spoke with gave me a half-hearted "sorry" and said John had rescheduled for March and that "don't worry" my reservation had already been transferred to the Sunday show in March. I don't know how they would assume that 4 1/2 months in advance that I will want/be able to see the Sunday show? I told the man we would not be attending that evening, to keep the date in March reserved and that I would like to speak with a manager. (He made it very clear that there were no other options.)

The manager called me an hour later (he doesn't come in until 5pm). We discussed the situation again and I said I understood the rescheduling and that it was out of Goodnights control, but I was very upset by the lack of notification (it was now 3 hours before the show and no one had contacted me!) as well as the lack of sincerity in their apology. Things happen, but shouldn't they at least act like they care? What if I had driven in from out of town? What if I had hired a baby sitter? I now had no plans for the evening and he could care less. -Once again, trying to convince me to see the show that evening.- No offer for a discount, upgrade in seating or even so much as a sincere apology. NOTHING! They don't care. It happens.

The comedians that come to Goodnights are first class. Too bad the venue is not.

John Pinette – When you eat at "The Grill", you are suppose to get reserved seating in rows 1 and 2. "The Grill" is a flat menu, $27.50 per person and GRATUITY AUTOMATICALLY ADDED!! Yes, for 2 people, they auto added the grat and now I know why. Our server (and the house) knew they were overbooked for the evening (it said so when I looked at their RSVP list. So, our server was extremely rushed the entire evening, my drink went dry several times and I had to ask for more, my wife asked for ice twice before I stopped her and asked her specifically to "bring me one glass of ice" very directly. The appetizer was ok, the salad was small, my salmon was excellent, my wife's Cordon Bleu Chicken was under-cooked in half of it and you could see pink. We got a free desert for the undercooked chicken. The cheesecake was great. We left in plenty of time to get our seat and were told to not to worry, we didn't have to wait in line since we ate at "The Grill" and we already had a table reserved for us in the first or second row (B5 to be exact). We sit at the bar and wait about 15 minutes so we didn't have to wait in line (HEY we had reserved seats because we were patrons at their $70/couple restaurant). So, we go up and stand in line about 5-10 mins, the place is PACKED, we get up and hand them our PRE-ARRANGED SEATING TICKET, and we are shown to our table...which is filled, the guy seating us goes back and tries another table...it too is filled, and the third time, he places us in a table in the back of the reserved seating where you would sit if you made reservations at the bar. This was ridiculous, we flat out were disappointed on so many levels. I figured it out when we were leaving that the reason that they intentionally overbooked the place is the fact that John is so good that they figure most people will leave more laughing and forget about their crappy experience before, I say Nay-Nay!!

The place isn't what it used to be...the comedians stink – It is true that Goodnight's is in disrepair...but that's never mattered since it's always been about the standup comedy there. Unfortunately for Goodnight's, the comedy has taken a downward turn also. Stay away from Fajita Marguerita Night on Wednesday's...it is nothing but hacks! There is nooooo local talent whatsoever! Just awful!!!!
