Best Hot Dogs Ever!
by big1intown
Roast Grill is definitely a diamond in the rough. Their customers are of the loyalest kind and it seems like they've been coming for many, many years. George and Mary are a lovely couple and they run the quaint place all by themselves. They specialize on southern-style, grill-blackened hot dogs with topping choices of only chili, mustard, slaw, or onions. ABSOLUTELY NO KETCHUP! Don't even breathe the word ketchup in this place. The homemade chili and slaw are delicious and ketchup just drowns out all the flavor that a hot dog has to offer. I can never have a hot dog with ketchup again.
- Pros: service, food
- Cons: parking, limited seating
good dogs

For a hot dog place, and just a hot dog place, the Roast Grill is good. That's about all it is, and it does that well. As far as service goes, I was asked what I wanted quickly, and I got it quickly...no niceties necessary. Be careful around lunchtime, as the line is often out the door of the small establishment.
- Pros: good hot dogs, good price
- Cons: small establisment, limited seating
grilled like no where else

Only the price keeps me from wanting to order 5,6, even 10 of these perfect "hot weiners" as their sign calls out. The perfect low carb fast food grill as you can only order "hot dog, hot dog, hot dog....Coke" a la the Saturday Night Live skit of the '70's.
No fries here......nor ketchup. You will be thrown out if you bring up the subject of Heinz otherwise it will cost you $12.00 for a small package normally used for your standard take out bag.
My preference is chili and fresh, really fresh, slaw. The only way to go.
Oh yeah, if you don't want a 6 oz coke you can always order a Miller High Life.
'40's throw back(Shhhh, don't tell anyone the place only sits about 18 patrons.)
- Pros: old time atmosphere
