Amazing Wedding Experience. I had my evening wedding reception at the Cardinal Club in April. It was amazing! The planning process from booking the site to the end of the event was so easy. The linens, tables, and floor plan were perfect and exactly as I had discussed with the event director. The food was fabulous and the staff made accommodations for everything we asked for. We received so many compliments regarding the venue- the view itself is amazing, but pair that with the service you receive and you can’t go wrong. The bartenders were great and all the staff was so friendly. As members, my parents were thrilled with the ease of planning and how stress-free the event was for all involved. They could not stop raving about the food and the service. I cannot imagine how the previous reviewer had a poor experience unless the reviewer did not instruct the staff of her wishes or just likes to find things to complain about. The event director met with me as often as I wanted and answered all of my questions. The staff made sure everyone in attendance was happy and comfortable- and most of all, having a good time. I was given a fabulous party and could not have asked for more. Everything was perfect and it would not have happened like that just anywhere. You cannot get great food, great views, and an amazing event staff at all locations. The service was impeccable.
I was privileged enough to be sponsored as a guest host at the Cardinal Club...my daughter thought the venue was one of the prettiest in Raleigh, so when we were offered an opportunity to have her wedding there, we were very pleased. The food as planned by the head chef was fabulous...let me be clear about that...we had a wedding brunch reception with stations offering varied and well-presented choices...thank you, chef. Our biggest regret is with the events planner and manager. She was flippant when we suggested that we were nervous about making sure everything was just as we planned...this is a once-in-a-lifetime event for us. She claimed it was "no problem" and that we should just allow her to make it all happen. On the day of the event, the tables were NOT set, the guests were not directed into the dining room as requested; there was no ice water served at the tables as requested; she did not put the toasting goblets out for the bride and groom, etc., Suffice it to say that the details that she was in charge of were completely neglected. She left the affair early in the day, and left us to fend for ourselves at the conclusion of the event. She was nowhere to be found for two days thereafter, and our final bill was tallied --despite our complaints-- put on our charge card...and we have been refused to be heard regarding the many errors made.
I love the ambience of this club, and I think the kitchen does a great job...but as far as being a top-notch service-oriented venue, it falls very short of its promise.
