EXCELLENT RESTAURANT

by chros

Thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant on a Saturday night. We ordered pizza and the crust, sauce, and ingredients were fresh and flavorful. The service was polite and prompt. The atmosphere was very relaxing and overall it was a very pleasurable experience. We will definitely be returning and would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone seeking a great place to eat on a night out on the town!

Rude, really rude

by drikadoux

I just had a great day with my sister and my two year old son, and i decided to go there for luch inside. FYI no one was eating inside everybody was outside. The waiter he was nice, the food was ok. then when we were still eating my son started to play by the window close to our table, again, no custumer was inside so he was not bodering nobody, he was just playing with he's little car, then he got closo to the curtain and before i got to him the manager/owner told me that my son could not be there, that his restaurant was not a playgroun and that now he had to put the fix the fork because my son moved. I know my son is my responsability but there is a away to talk to your custumer and my son did not touch the fork on the other table it was like that when i got there. he was so loud and rude rude, in front of my son how dear he do that. in the top of that i went to pay, and the try to charge me a extra drink and when I ask the cashier if he was the owner she was rude and i told her that i was going to write a review and she told me that my son should not be close to the curtain, again, he was there for one second!!!! lose another custumer because they are so rude, no respect! Please don't go there, they are not a kid friendly. you can get better italian food in another place.

Great pizza

by GeekLady

We visited Vic's for the first time last night. We were in the mood for pizza, but wanted something out of the ordinary. This was. It was a great pie. The cheeses were perfect, and the crust was excellent - not garlicky as with many of the pizza chains. The sauce was delicious. Oh, and the wine was good too. We also had a salad and dessert. We were full and sated.

We'll be back for the calzone and lobster ravioli.

Our wait staff was friendly and attentive also. They were moderately busy but kept our water / tea filled.

Great customer service AAAAA++++++

by Herschel Everett

We came to Raleigh NC to help our daughter move to go to school.. Came down to checkout the area someone at the City Park told us about Vic's. We had a great time visiting with everyone. Pizza was better than Papa John's Pizza.

RUDE RUDE RUDE!!!

by HardWorkingChick

I agree with previous posters. I would occasionally go to Vic's during my lunch break as I work downtown and it is a short walk from my office. In previous years the service and the meals were great which is what prompted my co-workers and me to continue to go to the restaurant. I will explain three different occasions to give you an idea of what we encountered.

Visit #1: There were 4 of us. The waitress salads for the 3 of us that ordered them. For 30 minutes we waited for our order. The waitress looked at our table numerous times but never brought our order. Finally after 45 minutes we questioned her. It was only then that she realized that she had not given our order to the chef. Keep in mind we only have an hour for lunch. We had to get our food to go because she forgot our orders. We said we would never go back.

Visit #2: Months later we decided to give them another chance. This time there were 6 of us. The waitress did not write down our drink orders. Instead said she "I got it" but when she returned with our drink orders half of them were wrong. A co-worker asked her about a small salad, she said "we don't make small salads they are all one size" so she ordered the salad and asked the waitress how much to which the waitress replied "$2.00 - $3.00". We all noted that the menu said something completely different. When my co-worker got to the register to pay, she was charged the higher price. When she questioned the cashier he stated that the waitress was incorrect when she said $2 - $3. The waitress over heard and came over to the register to say "I never told you the salad would be $2-$3." We all said back to her "yes you did". She continued to stand there with an attitude and argue with us that she never said that. What happened to the customer is always right? Especially when there are 5 other people who heard that she said!!

Visit #3 (Today):

My co-worker and I decided (again, after months) to give Vic's one last try. When placing my order for fettucine alfredo, I asked the waiter if there was an extra charge for broccoli and chicken or if they did not allow additions to the pasta. He said "yes we can add broccoli and chicken there is an extra charge." When I received my order I was highly disappointed and even said to my co-worker "... the chicken and broccoli fettucine alfredo I make at home is better than this." There was little to no alfredo sauce on the noodles and the chicken tasted like EGGS??!!?? Yes!! The chicken tasted like a scrambled egg!! So we get to the register and I am telling the cashier what I had and I am watching him ring up items for what seems like 5 mins. Finally he stops and my total is $19.74. I asked him to explain the charges. He basically states that in addition to the $6.95 charge for the fettucine alfredo there was a $2.00 charge for the broccoli and a $3.00 charge for the chicken. I tell my co-worker that $19.74 for lunch for one person is ridiculous. He hears me tell her that and says to me with and attitude "Maybe next time you should ask if there is an additional charge before you order something." Excuse me?? I said back to him "I did ask!!!" I have never been so irritated in my life. I WILL NEVER STEP FOOT IN THIS PLACE AGAIN!!!!!

*Beware of La Volta in downtown Raleigh as the place is allegedly owned by the owner of Vic's. The customer service here is okay but I did notice that the waitress from Visit #2 who argued with my co-worker now works at La Volta.

** I would give the restaurant 0 stars however I can only give them 1 star as the lowest possible rating.
