A Great Place to Get Breakfast.
I've been a loyal customer of Plaza since a few months after they opened. I mainly go for their breakfasts because they do custom orders for how you want your eggs. I've had their platters but their main stay for me is their sausage, egg and cheese croissant sandwich. I love their sausage, it's nice and spicy.
I've also gone at lunch and typically they are always busy from 12 to 1, steadily. They often do run out of food if you go late -- especially one main entree. I like that they always have a variety of lunch specials and it's not repetitive every week, no Taco Salad every Tuesday or Thursday.
I'm such a loyal customer that I'm on a first name basis with the servers and they are always friendly. Sure they have their off days, but don't we all?
Poor Customer Service. This restaurant is in a great location for people who work in downtown Raleigh however they could improve on their customer service. The first time we went the server took our orders but verbalized her annoyance that my co-worker did not tell her what she wanted on the sandwich and said something like "You should have told me what you wanted on it". We ignored her because the cashier was so nice and friendly. We went there a couple more times and the service was fine. The food often looked like it have been sitting there for hours and had a "filmy or dried out" look. We went on one occasion and though they were advertising philly cheesesteaks, when we got into the restaurant we found that they had "sold out" due to some company putting in an order that apparently wiped them out. The next time we wanted philly cheesesteaks, in order to avoid walking down to the restaurant and finding that they did not have what we wanted, we called first. At 12:45 in the afternoon NO ONE answered the phone. So we ended up walking down there. When we got into the restaurant we found that they, again, had sold out of the philly cheesesteaks. I said to the USUALLY FRIENDLY cashier,"... Aww, I called first to see if you all had sold out and no one answered the phone." She replied with a bit of an attitude "Well, we had people lined up out the door so we didn't have time to answer the phone, you guys shouldn't have come so late." Um what?? How about if you know that your best selling item is the philly cheesesteak... Order more ingredients so that you DON'T SELL OUT!!!
