Devils Ridge, like its namesake, is a deceiver. But don't be fooled--this design will challenge your skills and nerves.. In Short
Starting with the first hole, the elevations and hazards you're required to negotiate to save your score are continually changing. And just when you think you've seen it all, you'll hit the par-4 15th hole. All of a sudden sand bunkers at the green are replaced by large grass bunkers, which can be just as tricky and difficult to master. The large greens change from wide to long. Finally, the par-5 18th presents the challenge of not only a two-tiered green, but a two-tiered fairway as well.

Devils Ridge is Awesome. I have been hearing about Devils Ridge for a long time and the course is even better than I expected.

The course, which is located just outside Raleigh in Holly Springs, has been a regular host for the Carolina Classic Buy.com Tournament Qualifier and was recently nominated by CitySearch.com as one of the best courses in the Triangle area. Now I know why. The course, which received a 4 star rating from Golf Digest is a must play. Although it turned private in January, on occasion, the course still allows limited public play. If you ever get a chance to play Devils Ridge, take it!
