These guys ROCK

by mjmccoy9 at Citysearch

I was really impressed. Highly recommended. These guys are honest and get the job done.

My car had multiple electrical problems. Some of them were intermittent, which makes it harder to diagnose. I'd already spent well over $1,000 trying to get these things fixed at another shop. They couldn 't figure it out. It was a waste of money. And time without a car.

In addition, I'd wasted a few hundred more trying to diagnose and fix the issues myself, working alone in my garage. After a couple more months of wasted time and frustration, I found out about these guys, so I brought them the car.

They found the various problems my car had and fixed them in just 4 total hours of labor. Wow. To top it off, they were able to re-solder and repair some of the parts as opposed to ordering new ones, which saved me an additional $500. Climate control units are not cheap.

Then, as I was leaving, happy as can be, they made it clear to me that if any problems come back, they'll take care of it for the cost already paid. Now that's honest and great service.

Fred is the guy I worked with for numbers and coordinating, and Jose did the actual hands on. Kudo's to these guys. I'm a customer for life.

Stay away

by Consumer9 at Citysearch

After almost a week of promises of tomorrow while doing without a vehicle I was presented a bill for $650. That would have been fine and I would have been happy if the problem had been fixed. However what I got was a butchered up electrical system with "workarounds" that I had to pay someone else to correct. I understand that electrical problems can be difficult but when I pay the kind of hourly rate that Johnny's Auto & Marine Electric charges I expect much more.

Honest, Fast, and Easy on the wallet.

by Weeha at Citysearch

I had two fuses blowing in my car.

The circuits the fuses were on ran ALL over the car interior and exterior lights and locks.

I thought it would take days to track down the issue and get it fixed.

Pep Boys recommended Johnny's so I dropped my car off with them.

The tech at Johnny's isolated and fixed the problem in under two hours.

These guys are GREAT!!!

Master Technician Review

by A Wrench Bender at Citysearch

As a Lifelong Auto Tech and Proffessional Service Manager for more than 30 years I can tell you first hand that automotive electrical repair is absolutely in a class by itself. Any good wrench can replace your waterpump

or reline your brakes. Electrical / Electronic diagnosis and repair requires a highly advanced skillset.

Todays typical vehicle contains more than Ten

Miles of wiring, and computer networks with dozens

of modules, drivers and hundreds of switches and relays.

Assume one small wire, located "somewhere"

in your car has rubbed through it's insulation and is causing a short. A highly skilled technician could spend

several hours to diagnose and locate this small wire.

Yet once this problem is found, it can be typically

be repaired in just a few minutes!

I employ several excellant technicians who can solve

basic electrical issues, But the best reccomendation I can give my customers with electrical problems is

Call Johnnys Auto Electric !! I have done this for more than 20 years here in Raleigh NC and have never had

a valued customer report anything less than total satisfaction.

Just a thought from a Proffessional Wrench Bender.

Great Service but where's Johnny?

by Rickyk at Citysearch

I had electrical problems with a Chevy Cavalier that a national auto club service location worked on (at great expense) for over a month. They gave up and they took the car to a local Chevy dealer in Raleigh. The dealer was willing to "see what they could find" at around $100 per hour. They had no idea what the problem was or how many hours that it would take to figure it out but they were willing to “try” if I gave them a blank check! I then took it to Johnny's Auto & Marine Electrical in Garner. I was given a fair maximum amount that they would charge to diagnose the problem. In less than a day, they found the problem and repaired an electronic component that would have cost over a hundred dollars, just for the part. Their entire bill was the amount that they quoted for the estimate amount. Later I had a no start problem with a 6 month old Wal-Mart battery that Wal-Mart tested TWICE and told me that the battery was fine. Back to Johnny’s I went thinking that I had an electrical short in the vehicle. There was a drain but it was in the defective battery from Wal-Mart. The bottom line is that Dwight and Fred (I think that Fred is the inspiration for the Rodney Carrington song “Fred” but I digress) are a throw back to the shops that know what they are doing and are fair in what they charge. I still would like to know what happened to poor Johnny but I may not get the answer to that question until after the “statue of limitations” expires?
