Used to be a favorite of mine, but the new owner raised both drink prices and food prices. The last time I was in, it was a ghost town at lunch time. When it had dive bar prices and a dive bar atmosphere, it was perfect. Now the prices are a lot higher, but the atmosphere is the same. Not sure how much longer I will continue to be a customer.
Horrible service...food was average. Servers were too busy talking & texting to pay attention to needs of our table. They couldn't even make a suggestion of what was good to eat. Really?! The owner (or someone) needs to train the waitstaff and make them stay off their phones and attend to their customers.
They get 5 stars for their burgers, onion rings and prices on food and drinks. Bloody Mary bar on Sundays is a 5. Chicken wings are a 4. Any other food is about a 3 - thus the rating average of 4. Go have a burger and you'll be 5-star happy. Bar-restaurant side atmosphere is good, restaurant is dull. This is a Green Bay Packer club bar all through football season, so join them if you're a fan or work around it if you're not.
Going Downhill FAST. I don't know what has happened to this place but we ate there last night and it was horrible. Seems like the need a new cook in the kitchen. A Tuesday night was a bit crowded maybe but apparently the kitchen was ruining everyone's order. At another table all the medium burgers were well done. Our order was taking forever and we finally had to ask about it. We were told there were "problems in the kitchen". Well the medium burger we ordered also came out well done and missing the lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle that was asked for. They seemed lost. We had to go pay at the bar. They are touting their new burgers but if they can't even cook the old ones I just don't know. Very disappointing and it will take a lot to get me to go back even though it's within walking distance of my house!
Best Burgers hands down!.
The burgers are awesome! The staff is wonderful and the food is ALWAYS great. We have been dining there for over 10 years and have shared this hidden treasure with many folks. The daytime bartender, Erin, is one of the best in the area! She is always smiling, friendly and remembers what you'd like to drink! Our favorite server on the restaurant side is Courtney! She is fast, friendly and does a great job!
The beer specials are great too!! :-)
GREAT BURGER!!! CLASSIC MUSIC!!!. I went to Abbey Road over the weekend and was so impressed by their burgers. Not only was the burger large and juicey but they actually cooked it the way I wanted it. The service was quick and friendly. The beer was cold. The classic rock music cannot be beat. Had a nice time and will go back soon.
Pretty decent burger!.
I see that Abbey Road has gotten some pretty rough reviews recently, but I'm happy to report that my experience wasn't bad at all!
We were seated promptly when we arrived, and a waitress came over to our table within a minute. We each ordered a beer, which also arrived promptly.
For dinner I had the John burger, which has 3 different kinds of cheese. It took a little while for the burgers to be cooked, but they are handmade and cooked to order, so I was prepared to wait. The wait was only about 15 minutes I would guess.
My burger was cooked medium-well, just the way I like my burgers. My only complaint was that the bun wasn't warm. The burger would have been 5 stars if the bun had been buttered and put on the grill briefly. Other than that, it was great. French fries were generic, but warm and tasty.
My husband and I enjoyed our meal at Abbey Road. It is out of the way from our usual routes around the Triangle so we might never go back, but we won't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else!
Would not go back l. In the distant past we had heard good things about this establishment and looked forward to trying them out. While we try to give most restaurants 2 trials, since anyone can have a bad day , we will not be going back for a second visit. Today the DR was cold enough to hang meat. I ordered a "well done" burger since I have had food poisoning in the past from under-cooked meat. The hamburger came out with a pink center. When I told the waitress she offered to put it back on the grill ( after I had taken a bite--not very sanitary) . Re-frying a hand-patted burger just adds insult to injury. Only after I refused did she offer to acquire a new burger. By then I was so frustrated that we left. I can recommend BB&Y in r Raleigh if you want a delicious hand made burger- roll or Barry's in Cary for a place with good burgers and breakfast.
Very Disappointed. We went to Abby Road at 6:30 on a Sunday evening. It took 20 minutes before someone took our order and another 30 minutes to be served a hamburger. The silverware had old dried up food on it. The server brought glasses to the table with his hands inside of the glasses. When they cleaned the table, the just scooped the food onto the floor and left it there. My husband loved the hamburger. I had a hard time eating wondering what the kitchen looked like. We will not be going back. This is a bar for college kids who like loud rock music.
