Cary >Waverly Primary Care
HORRIBLE! Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else. Both the backoffice and the healthcare are terrible. They lost my records multiple times. They never answer the phone and are very slow to respond to voicemail. And more than 1 time the Dr has misdiagnosed me (luckily nothing TOO serious). DO NOT GO HERE!
Changing Doctors due to office staff issues.
I've been a patient at Waverly Primary Care for more than six years now. I love my doctor. However, I can't stand the office staff, receptionists, and nurses. In general they are rude, unhelpful, and generally have no idea what is going on. In the past, I have been provided misinformation, including misdiagnoses, had improper referrals, and scheduling mistakes due to their poor listening and communication skills. I recently called to schedule a physical and they said it would be at least a six month wait! Completely unacceptable.
This seems to be the norm lately. Sad to say but my family is now looking for a new PCP.
Best Primary Care in the Triangle. I cannot comment on other peoples experiences but I followed Dr. Richard over to Waverly Primary because he is the best doctor I ever had; Dr. Foster is also excellent. They have helped me and my family with issues overlooked elsewhere and truly saved my life. I really enjoy the nursing staff because they are real people and are not fake. Their attitude is to do their job efficiently. Perhaps there could be more smiles but they are very caring and do excellent work and if you smile and laugh they do too. This is the best primary care of several we tried since I moved here since 1985.
Wonderful Doctors!. I would see ANY of the three doctors at Waverly Primary Care, they are ALL wonderful, caring and knowledgable. My entire family goes there including my parents. I am a RN and picky about where I go, but this is truly the best PCP I have ever been to. They are flexible with scheduling and accomodate your needs. Sure the staff could work a little on their professionalism and attitude, but the doctors are so great I overlook it.
Good Doctors. Bad & Awful Staff.
We see a doctor at this practice and we love him. Having said that, we are looking for another family doctor due to the issues we have had with the staff. I have yet to see any of the office staff or a nurse smile. We have been there several times and they are short and rude. We dread going to that office.
Also, we had gotten new insurance and gave them our cards. We received a bill because it was billed to the old insurance. We called and they said we had to call their billing office. We called at 4:15 and pressed the appropriate prompt. We waited, and waited and waited. So, I hung up and called back and did the same thing. We then called Waverly and they said the billing office closed at 4:00. of course this information came with a significant attitude.
I don't know if the office manager is bad and it influences them. I don't know if they don't get paid enough, or if the doctors aren't really as nice as they are to the patients, but there is a big problem in this office.
Positive Atmosphere. I have been attending this office for some time and enjoy each member of the staff. I enjoy each persons sense of humor, it adds a lightness to what can be a dreary experience. My Dr. is able to diagnose me quickly and I believe accurately. Each time I go I feel at ease and relaxed, almost at home. I would highly recommend my doctor and this practice to anyone.
Wonderful Dr., but horrible, horrible nurse and staff. I love Dr. Richard. But I am finding another doctor in large part because of his nurse and some of the staff. His nurse seems to genuinely HATE people, and is very impersonal and basically rude. I've also had some of the women who work at the sign-in window be very rude, slow and snobby. No nice greetings, or friendly hellos here. I've been several times over the last 3-4 years, and every time I feel like I entered the office right after they'd all had a knock down drag out screaming match or something with each other and were trying to get over it. Every question you ask is greeted with an attitude of "are you the stupidest person on earth?" And they make you wait forever (even if you are the every first patient of the day). Don't EVER accidently get a cell phone call or forget to read their little sign about no cell phones. They'll blast you with both barrels on that crime. Top be fair, the older nurse who takes lab work is really nice and the person at the end who handles billing is nice. But Dr. Dan really needs to get a new main nurse who like people, and some people at the sign-up window who have some people skills! Again, He is very nice, a wonderful man and doctor.
Excellent Primary Care. My entire family goes to Waverly Primary Care. All of the MDs go the extra mile and truly care about their patients' well being. The first reviewer may have had a bad individual experience with the nursing staff which may have created a bad first impression but this has not been my experience at all in several years of going to WPC for my medical needs. I've always found the nursing and office staffs to be very friendly and helpful and the MDs at Waverly are First Rate.
Bad nurses and not so friendly staff.
My husband went to this practice after moving to NC and needing to establish a primary care physician.
After having a test done, the nurse called and rattled off medical lingo and some numbers. I had no idea what she was talking about and she basically refused to explain it saying "he just needs to come in for more tests". What kind of test, what is wrong? - and I got NO EXPLANATION. She just said - his number is high, he needs to come in for more tests.
I asked them to fax the needed test to an independent lab that is less than 5 minutes from our house, instead of us having to drive an hour. The nurse refused to do that too. I could not believe that. Why in the world would you not be willing to help out your patient if all we are going to do is drive a hour to have the same test we can have done here in town. I was so disappointed by them and their attitudes. The doctor was fine, but as we all know, the staff is who we deal with on a daily basis adn in this case - the nurse, her name was Debbie, was horrible!
Finally, a doctor who cares!. I have been seeing doctors for about 2 years with no results. Many were anxious to write prescriptions for anti-depressants and dismiss me as quickly as possible. Dr. Daniel Richard is an answer to my prayers. He is kind, caring and thorough. The staff is always professional and very easy to work with. I have never had to wait very long for an appointment and they are always on time. No matter how busy Dr. Richard is, when he steps in the exam room it feels as if you are his only patient. I can't say enough good things about this wonderful man. If you are frustrated with physicians, this is where you need to go. Thank you Dr. Richard for being one of the few physicians left who still care about their patients.
