In Short – Located in a Cary store front, the restaurant is small and casual and has that intimate ambience found wherever diners are really digging in and enjoying. Little Tokyo makes the cheapest and most interesting lunch box specials around. The sashimi, chirashi and sushi combinations range from $7-$10, and are slightly higher for lunch. All meals come with miso soup, gingered salad and green tea.
BEST SUSHI EVER
by jerseyfreak at Citysearch
We went here on a recommendation from a friend and have been back at least a dozen times since. This is the ONLY place to go if you want Sushi, and they have simply the best rolls anywhere in the Triangle!
- Pros: free appetizers, great fresh fish
- Cons: NONE, even the location and outside of it gives it character
Good sushi restaurant relative to the area

I've had sushi all over the world, all over the nation, and (more relevant to this review) all over the Triangle. Little Tokyo is far from the best sushi that I've had, that's why I cannot give it 5 stars. However, for this area I'd have to say it is one of the best.
Their fish quality varies day to day. I've had it once where it was worse than Sushi Blues (perhaps the worst tasting sushi in the area), but on most occasions it is pretty good. If you are looking for a little more fish quality, but at a higher price then look towards Waraji in northwest Raleigh. I cannot comment on their other food however, I've honestly never tried it.
Service also varies based on who you get to serve you. It's mediocre overall, but they will let your water glass go empty before coming around to refill.
The best part about Little Tokyo is as most other people have said, the extras you get. I've always gone with one other person and neither of us have ever left hungry. Most of the time I've received two appetizers on the house prior to my meal and a small desert afterward. When I've gone with with a female friend, sure enough they bring out a heart-shaped appetizer; they have always found this mildly humorous.
The price here is about on par with everything else in the area, maybe a little less. I've never been dissatisfied with what I've eaten for what I've paid.
- Pros: Reasonable price, unlisted extras
- Cons: Occasional subpar food, hard for some to find
Charming and Romantic

This restaurant was amazing! The waitress was very sweet and the appetizers were not only free, but delicious. The sushi presentation and flavor were outstanding. The best I've ever had! If you are looking for a romantic and homey place to enjoy sushi with loved ones this is it!
- Cons: waitress took too long to refill my drink
