can't recommend on any measure. I was reluctant to make the trip and now I wish we would have gone to any other restaurant. We were a small but quiet group and it seemed like one big train wreck of an experience for each and every one of us.

Here is what I must say:

1. A single small glass of house wine was over $13. It was $10 + tax + the bartender added gratuity at 20%. It is a giant rip-off. How can you do that to hosts, guests and patrons?

2. I ordered their signature larger cut of bacon-wrapped filet. It came out with a wood stick labeled ‘medium’ but I had ordered it well. I waited for the waitress to come back and she looked at me as if I was crazy for not cutting into it- I thought given the stick label maybe they accidentally switched mine with someone else’s and therefore was willing to wait to even touch it- well she then followed it up with “it is probably just the wrong stick.” Well it wasn’t. It was red, not even pink, on the inside. Butterfly it for all I care, just understand the commonsense that someone who doesn’t order meat with any pink won’t like it red. It went back and must have been put under a heating lamp or popped in the microwave, as it returned the exact same. The funny thing was it took forever and everyone else was over halfway done before I ever had the chance to start eating my entrée. Anyway, at this point you would have thought I ordered it blackened. I just ate the outside and left the majority of it, blood red, on the plate. No one ever came by; no one ever questioned the blatantly obvious.

3. Throughout the entire night a waitress would always chew her nails by the water ledge in the corner. All her fingers would literally go inside her mouth and then she would only stop when bothered. I was disgusted. This is unacceptable. Period. Where is the management??

4. When we asked for checks there was still food we were working on. When the checks came we were literally still chewing and the plates were taken right from under us. We left upset.

I know I won’t be back. None of us ladies will. We should have had a memorable night for the better, not worse.

How does this place stay in business?. A very overpriced restaurant that serves food that tastes like it came out of the freezer. We ordered the Charred Rare Beef appetizer. My husband said it tasted like what raw Steak-Umm probably tastes like. I couldn't eat it either. Just tasted like raw stringy meat. Awful. Then we each ordered the Caprese Salad. Another disappointment. Tomatoes were not fresh and the mozzarella cheese tasted like something from the Wal-Mart grocery. The dressing was terrible too. I've had better salad dressing at the Carolina Ale House. The bread that was brought out with the salad was like garlic bread that was pre-frozen and heated. I mean it was a complete joke. My husband ordered a glass of house red wine. Terrible. Wasn't fresh. Any small $3 box wine at the grocery store would have been better than the wine he ordered. We didn't order anything else. It is a million wonders that this place is still in business serving such poor quality food at outrageous prices. What is the deal with serving a bowl of salty olives with pits for one to "snack on" as you're waiting for the appetizer. Strange. I mean the whole experience was laughable. This was our first time and will be our last.

Worst restaurant experience in a LONG time.. Based on their website we expected JimmyV's to be comparable to Sullivans, The Angus Barn or Ruth Chris. In retrospect, we should have selected any of those restaurants. My husband took me the JimmyV's for my birthday. I ordered their rib eye medium rare. When it arrived the rib eye was only medium rare in the center, the rest was medium well. Sent it back. Changed to Prime Rib. I told the waitress that if it was not medium rare I did not want it. So someone other than the waitress brings a medium towards medium well slice of prime rib to the table and suggested that I just cut into it to see. Anyone that eats prime rib knows that if it is not the correct color on the outside the inside is no better. (if this was an exception rather than the rule for them that slice of Prime Rib would have never left the kitchen. In a good restaurant, regardless of their prices, poor quality food does not leave the kitchen.) I refused and sent it back. So I had creamed spinach for my birthday dinner. My husband ordered a New York strip medium and it was slightly over cooked so he ate his. The waitress did not pre-bus the salad plates nor did she remove my creamed spinach side dish. Never offered desert or coffee. After all of this the manager never came by to talk to us and they did not even comp my iced tea which again tells me this is the "norm" for them.

Going downhill fast!. My husband and I eat here 2-3 times per year, usually on the rare occasion that we can get a kid-free night. Last night, it was apparent that things are going downhill fast. The one highlight of the night was our server, Jess - she was great! We started with the hot crab dip which has always been our favorite. Not this time. It was tasteless and had a consistency like oatmeal or grits. It was like they replaced the creaminess with some sort of tasteless, gritty filler. When we asked someone what's changed, we were told that there's a new chef. Our server checked with the chef who said it must be because they were using different crab - but the crab on my husband's fillet oscar was very good, which leads us to conclude it's the new chef. It wasn't broke - he never should have messed with a good recipe. We ordered crab cakes as a replacement appetizer and those were good (another reason to believe that the crab was not the culprit in the unfortunately change to the crab dip recipe) though the portion size was tiny compared to most other things on the menu. My filet, ordered medium, arrived raw. After taking it back to recook it, It was still very undercooked. Not wanting to wait longer, I ate it. On its own, it was just OK. The bordelaise (sp?) sauce with mushrooms made the steak. The manager did credit the full amount of my fillet, which we appreciated. Still, I don't think we'll be going back. This used to be one of our favorite places, but it sounds like they've made some poor hiring decisions among their new kitchen staff. What a shame!

Awful. Awful. Awful... Now.. Years back when we lived close by, this restuarant was pretty good for the most part and we were okay with spending our money there. HOWEVER, a lot has changed in terms of quality and service (way down), management (is the manager 12?!), price (just ridiculous), decor (the one pro on the list)! The steak entrees are medicore at best, which is awful (again!) given their steep price increases and they really were their claim to fame.

I wish I would have read the other recent reviews before I took company there recently. At least I know I won't promote the establishment to friends or business or ever be back!
