Cary >Cary Plumbing Co
Courteous. They called when they realized they were going to be late, let us know when they had to leave again to get some parts, and showed me the pipe they replaced and explained everything when they gave me the bill.
I've had some bad experiences with plumbers, and it can be expensive even with a good one. I thought that Cary Plumbing was very fair in their pricing and I thought their man did a good job. I can confidently recommend their service.
I Have used Cary Plumbing for any plumbing need I have, since my Realtor recommended them when I moved to the area. They are always fair with me, but today was the best example yet. They came by to check out a problem I had with my sink, only it was NOT a problem and nothing was actually broken. Instead of getting me for a trip charge or anything of the ilk, they shook my hand and walked out the door.
I've used Cary Plumbing for about 6 years now. They are always on time, professional, courteous and above all (in my book) reasonable. I would highly recommend them.
I just had my re-pipe done by Cary
Plumbing and was initially very nervous because of all the bad reviews here. That being said, I really needed a turn-key operation and a company that would do Pex... so I was left with few other options and crossed my fingers. It has been two weeks since the repipe and so it may be a bit early to comment on the long-haul workmanship, but everything about the service was professional, polite, and prompt. The service was excellent; they answered any question I had; it was really quick (less than two days); there was no gapping - torn holes in the wall - just surgical cut outs in only a few spots; they were very careful about leaving the house just as they found it;; and the price was really fair for an extra hose bib (just $100). When I noticed a minor leak in the toilet after the repipe, the guys fixed it without extra charge or hemming or hawing, and even replaced the internal flush mechanism. That was great that I didn't have to wrestle with them on that! Although the guy doing the dry wall did not come until a day or two after the repipe because of a scheduling conflict... when he did come, he did an incredible job and while he waited for the drywall to dry... he helped me find my property line which I was doing at the time. Gone are the days when someone will go beyond the call of duty...How nice is that!
Overall, so far.... as long as the pex is tight and with no leaks... I would give Cary a 4 1 /2 star rating (would have gotten 5 if it was more affordable.) As far as other ratings go, indeed there may have been the one or two bad job, bad employee, or bad customer, but I can only comment on my experience which was fantastic. Check out Angies list for other reviews on Cary Plumbing too, which I hear make up for the crummy ones here.
Awful customer service.. CAUTION!!! Do not do business with this company. The owner does not stand behind the business deals they make. They sent a tech (if that is what you could call him) to set two toilets. Well apparently they go by the motto "if ain't done twice it ain't done right". After the second try the upstairs toilet ended up leaking and causing pretty major damage to the room below. After agreeing that we would cover the cost for the plumbing repair and they would take care of any sheetrock repair we thought okay this isn't too bad....until they went back on their word and we had to take care of everything ourselves. So in hindsight I wish I had read the reviews. Stay away from this company at all costs. The owner James has no integrity. For a company that is in the service industry they sure don't take care of their customers.
I took off work to meet a plumber in a 2 hour time period. Thirty minutes after the time period expired I called the company. They didn't have any record of my order and said they were now all booked up and would need to reschedule for another day. While I was on hold (it was obvious they were disorganized as I told what I wanted and when I called to several different people) I saw the other comments here and decided that there is a pattern of disorganization and so I've called another company who will come out tonight with a $50 extra charge. $50 is a lot cheaper than me taking another day off of work.
I can't speak to the quality of the plumbers. It seems like the problem is the dispatch service and I wouldn't normally give a poor review for what might have been an honest mistake, but it seems like this company has a problem with these mistakes.
I hired Cary Plumbing to move the shut-off valve from the crawl space to the kitchen pantry where it's more accessible. Also to check the hot water heater, as it was leaking. Plumber said hot water heater was fine, and that he fixed it, and he moved the shut off valve. Was told he would be there between 8am and 10am, and I made it clear I had a meeting at 10am - so he had to be here and gone by then. He showed up at 9:45am. Since I had an appointment, I left him at the house with my cell phone number. While out he called and asked to use my bathroom. Of course I said fine. I arrived at the house where he informed me it was a good thing I had spray on the back of the toilet to take care of the smell, and then he explained he has a condition where he 'explodes' in the bathroom.. (Gross and TMI!!!)
After that he started working on the toilet. I don't know what he did, but water started shooting all over the place. I grabbed a towel and he turned to me and told me to clean everything up. So after blowing up my bathroom both literally and figuratively, I then had to clean up after his mess - not professional! After he left and I inspected his work (a week later), I found out the hot water heater under the house was still leaking (after he assured me it was fine), as well as new leaks from the pipes he rerouted. Good thing I checked!
I called Cary Plumbing to let them know, they sent a guy out. He said I needed a new hot water heater, and a concrete slab to put it on - plus labor. If the first guy had done his job right, I wouldn't be paying this extra money plus wasting my time!! Plus, when they quote and invoice nothing is broken down. You cannot tell what is parts, what is labor, etc.
Later, my HOA paid a blanket fee to Cary Plumbing to move the shutoff valves from the crawl spaces of 5 units - work I had just paid to have done. Long story short, they only refunded me for one part, and no labor!!!
In short, they are unprofessional and seem eager to take your money without delivering!!
"James" - whoever he is, SCREAMED at me on the phone when I questioned a $14 refund for labor (Seriously??) And after his screaming, insulting, RUDE tirade, I never got the money!!!! THESE PEOPLE ARE UNPROFESSIONAL CHEATS! Buyer beware!!!!!
Great plumbers, excellent service. I have been a customer of Cary Plumbing for over 20 years and couldn't be more satisfied. They fix my plumbing issues right the first time. They also do the little things like explain how to prevent a similar problem in the future. And neat.... they even take their shoes off when they come in the house!
Absolute Thieves and CON ARTISTS!
Avoid this company at all costs!
They came to my property and did more damage regarding the minor problem I contacted them about and left me with a FAR worse , URGENT problem.
I promptly phoned them back up to have them return and fix the URGENT EMERGENCY that I now had on my hands. They refused to acknowledge their wrongdoing and do the right thing- return and fix it.
Horrible experience-I contacted the Better Business Bureau
